Remarks

Anyone gets admission through lateral entry also even but should have a good percentage in diploma. I got the application form on the College website and the registration fee was 1500 Rs. There is a 50% reservation policy for Punjab residents. No improvement is needed in the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

Due to the vast scope of computer science, I choose the computer branch. The faculty to student ratio is 1:30 in labs. All the faculty is very well qualified with PhDs and MSc. The exams are conducted from time to time with labs, practicals written exams etc. The exam level is moderate. Every kind of study material is available on thapar LMS.

Class Size: 190Course Fees: INR 2000000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The internship offers start from the third year onwards. Top companies like jp Morgan Paytm axis Bank etc .gives internships opportunity If anyone gets interned on campus he or she will get pre placement offers in the same company.

Placement Experience

From the 5th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Top companies such as axis Bank, applicate AI, JP Morgan De Shaw, McKinsey, Paytm etc have visited in 2022. Around 80 % of students get placed. I want to be placed and do a job in any top company after getting a degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Thapar is an expensive college with a total fee of 2200000 in 4 years. Mostly high rankers and high cgpa holders in college can get scholarships. A loan facility is provided inside campus through various banks inside campus like sbi and icici bank. There is 10% fee hike policy every year.

Campus Life

The campus life is overall the best. Thapar conducts thapar food fest, and frosh events for new batches. The library is one of the biggest with every book available. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned with all the things like projectors boards etc. Each and every sport is playable on campus. These societies are there like: frosh, creative society, mudra, saic etc.

Hostel Facilities

The room is air-conditioned with a study table, balcony attached washrooms etc. The meal quantity is of moderate level. Hostels rooms are allocated on the basis of merit of cgpa. And the fee for a semester is around 40000 Rs. The college is located in main Patiala so anyone can get pgs etc near college.

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and cover every aspects of learning and skills needed in today's time but it feels the semester get over to fast in around 3.5 months with 3 exams and lab exam. They should provide the real learning based on a student interest some student are good in coding but they lack to communicate better, they should focus on that part also as they also do in many cases by giving subjects like soft skills and communication skills every sem.The teacher should not be reading the ppt only . We can do that also why we are paying that much fees just to learn from a teacher who is just reading the slides.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course curriculum as largely relevant and fairly comprehensive,. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between conceptual foundations and practical exposure. the curricuum supports future academic growth since many of the modules introduce us to advance topics early, making it easier to explore research. some topics feel slightly outdated and could be aligned better with the current industry skills and technologies. the exam schedule is manageable, though sometimes multiple assessments happen in the same week or same day, ehich adds pressure . Spacing out evaluations a bit more and giving clearer rubrics could improve the overall experience

Honest is the best Policy

Bits Pilani was the other college that I applied for but in there entrance exam I didn't score enough to get a branch of my liking.
