Remarks

The Admission process for this course was on merit basis i.e. how much you scored in 12th class. There is no entrance exam for this course in my college. To opt for this course, you should have opted for maths in your 12th. You just need to be passed in maths and it can be excluded from best 4 subjects. You can find the application form on official site of Delhi University. Reservation benefits are available for Sikh students, which could be availed from DSGMC Sikh Minorirty Certificate.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

This course is of three years. It is divided into a total of 6 semesters. The course curriculum is well structured, each semester has different but inter-related subjects. The best thing is optional Generic Elective(GE) and Skill Enhancement Course(SEC), where we can chose the subject according to our preference. The main reason for me selecting this course is that it is not very rigorous or difficult, it does not require to devote your full time in it. So, that I can manage other things as well, at last college is all about exploring different things not just sticking to a course. Almost all the teachers teaching different subjects in my course are PhD holders, they are very cooperative and ask suggestions to improve their way of teaching in online mode. Faculty to student ratio is good, teachers are able to address the doubts of every student. The exams are not at all difficult, if we study side by side.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship opportunities are made available through the Placement and Training Cell of this college. Internships are offered by varied no of companies for varied roles, almost everyday new internship are there. For participating in these, students have to undergo a certain selection process. Starting with filling the internship form, then getting examined through a simple aptitude test and then, at last, face to face video conferencing with the recruiter. However, the steps for recruitment can vary as per the companies requirement. Most of the internship offers stipend while some are there that don't, and also some internships comes with a job offer at the completion.

Placement Experience

4

The placements for this college are overlooked by the Placement Cell of this college. As soon as the student enters his/her third year and they are to be graduated in the coming year, they become eligible for campus placements. The various companies which came for campus placement are EY, Delloitte, KPMG, PwC, Wipro, Dell, and many more. These companies covered major sector like Business development, analysis, audit and many such areas. In previous year, more than 200 students got placed through campus placements. The highest salary package offered was 21LPA, and the average salary package offered was around 5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 4.5LPA. Bcom(hons) students has a high percentage of getting hired as compared to other courses students as being a commerce college, companies usally offers roles related to business one such example of a company is Deloitte.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure of this course includes an annual payment of 27000-28000 three times in a span of the course, which sums up to a total of 81000-84000. This annual payment is made at the starting of the year for the respective year. Scholarships are provided by the college but under certain specified conditions and they are overlooked by the Scholarship cell. Students are able to get on campus placements, there are many companies visiting my college like KPMG, Deloitte, Wipro, Yes Securities, and many more. There is a special department for this purpose by the name placement cell.

Campus Life

4.5

Due to the online mode, I am not able to enjoy campus life. However, I have visited the college, the infrastructure facilities were overwhelmed compared to other colleges in the north campus circuit. It has won an award for greenery which can be clearly observed while roaming around campus. Various societies and committees are there in this college, broad categories include Academic, Professional, Social service and student societies of which students can be a part. Yearly elections are held for entry into a society that is held by the society itself. The library is well maintained and consists of more than 50000 books, 490 bound volumes of important journals and about 850 CDs of various subjects. In the case of online mode, library items are available online. The campus has well developed AC classrooms , one of the biggest ground among the circuit for sports.

Other Applied Colleges

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College | Bcom(hons)

Sggscc is better for commerce students, as it has only commerce specified courses.

Placement Experience:

The alumni network of hansraj is strong as it has been a doorway for many famous bureaucrats and entrepreneurs such as Naveen Jindal himself. The societies are very active as well which enhance real life skills of students which further helps them to acquire a job due to experience. The internship cell works for giving us access to prospective internship which starts from sem 1 too. The highest package stood at 36.5 lakhs . The placement cell of Hansraj is a student run cell that plays a huge role too . As I have said before , majority of students offered job (74%) were from commerce stream. The average package stands at 8.2 lpa and median at 7 lpa

I choose this course because I didn't get admission to Delhi University due to low marks. Faculty to student ratio is 1:30. The teaching method is fine and the faculties are good. Term exams were on time when I was there.
