My Real Experience In KU University

The Kalyani university does not take any entrance tests for post-graduation. The admission process is based on the merit list. You have to score good marks in your graduation honors subject to get admission here. Although departments have much more seat capacity but 80% of the total seats are for home university students and 20% of seats are available for other's university students. The total student's seat capacity is around 110. Around 40 seats are available for minority candidates like SC/ST/OBC. After completing my BSc I wanted to pursue higher studies & I want to be a professor that's why I have chosen this course. We have around 11-13 professors and a lot of researchers. And we have around 110 students in our batch so the student-faculty ratio is one faculty per 10 students. All of our department's faculties are highly efficient. They have done their post-doctorate degree in different parts of Mathematics. Their teaching method is very amazing. They take regular classes and do regular practicals. We had 4 main exams to pass. Exams were not very difficult to pass

The cost of studying here is comparatively lower than in other colleges. You have to spend around 3000-5000 per semester and the total cost of the study is between Rs 15000-20000. The fee structure does not increase very often. However, you can apply for many government scholarships like SVMCM, K3, OASIS, etc. And many private scholarships like TATA, JINDAL, HDFC are also available. Universities generally approve only any two scholarships. There is no job campusing benefit in our university.

Our university has a very good campus. University provides hostel facilities for students based on marks. Hostel rooms are clean and well maintained but food quality is just fine. Our university's different departments organize many small fests all around the year. Besides some seminars and festivals like Saraswati puja are also organized each year. Our classroom is pretty decent and our library is very big. It has various books from different authors. Annual sports programs are organized each year. Whole things are done with great enthusiasm and spirit
