Remarks

IIMC is one of the oldest IIM resulting in a huge network of professionals across the globe. Also, it being a part of the holy trinity, brand strength seemed to be a deciding factor. Moreover, it is known to be the finance campus of the country. Online mode sucked out all the essence of MBA

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Faculty student ratio seems to be pretty healthy in campus where faculties mostly graduated from old IIMs, ISB, and other prestigious B-schools/University of the country and abroad. Teaching methods/curriculum are good, but compared to A & B it is a bit on the simpler and less stringent side. Grading had class participation components which turns the class into a regular crowd talking together

Internships Opportunities

5

Interned at ICICI Capital Markets and Custodial group during summers. Just like the final placements, summers are equally lucrative for a student with interest in any field to a student who isn't sure enough about his final destination. Project: worked on devising a handbook for the vertical expansion of security custodian services. It is supposed to be the fourth such service provider in India. Expanded it into commodities. Analyzed SEBI regulations and MNCs competing in the same industry to devise strategies and risk mitigation for the business and developed strategies to streamline external operations (warehouse service providers)Worked on enhancing existing web service to expand it into commodity services as well.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement cell is pretty competent as they clocked out the highest average ever in final placements of previous batch.Few big shot MNCs come only to ABC to recruit, so one can get the idea of the opportunities a student gets here. The ratio of companies called to student is healthy enough at around 1:4

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee hikes are not there. Jindal, ABG are the two scholarships provided in campus along with provisions by the college for institute rank holders(top 10)Financial assistance is pretty great with a provision of NBFA for the economically disadvantaged students. Got an internship at ICICI Capital Market Division

Campus Life

5

Life at Campus is really relaxed and a very helpful network of seniors and batchmates.Fests like Carpe Diem, 7 lakes are there. C-XLRI and Sangharsh (ABCL) are there but due to covid we couldn't host this year. Availability of subscriptions of Statista, Euromonitor helps the students get real time statistical reports of different industries. Sports facilities and enthusiasm are pretty good.SIGs and Clubs make sure that students are not only focused on their academics all the time.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels are in good condition except for one. Rooms are spacious and single accommodation with necessary amenities. Meal qualities cary from hostel to hostel. They are at par with common hostel food if not a bit better.

Admission

Faced WAT as my PI was offline. Don't remember the topic but it was on a very generic topic. Post WAT,PI: they generally start with the basic tell me something about yourself and expects the interviewee to drive the conversation. Apart from that, few quantitative questions were asked to solve on pen and paper along with some general knowledge and few technical questions from UG

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.
