IIM-C Review

The application process was comparable to that of other top IIMs and was completed entirely online due to covid-19. The CAT score was the first selection criteria, after which candidates were shortlisted based on their CAT score and general profile, which includes marks in 10th, 12th, and job experience. Following that, a PI was conducted, and a final admission list based on the aforesaid scores was created.

I am enrolled in IIM-C's MBA programme. The curriculum emphasises the development of future managers and leaders. IIM-C provides excellent learning opportunities in areas such as finance, marketing and sales, product management, and consulting. The faculties are excellent and extremely helpful. The student-to-faculty ratio is approximately 8:1. Regular assignments are done to assist us to keep up with our studies. Exams are not difficult to pass if you pay attention in class.

The summer internship process at IIM Calcutta takes place in the 2nd term and it involved the participation of various companies from finance. marketing, consulting, product management etc. Around 135-145 recruiters took part in the internship process for a group of students, providing offers and chances in areas such as Operations & General Management, Finance, Consulting, and Sales & Marketing. It was 100% internship placements once again. The average package was about 1.2 lakh.

IIM Calcutta has fantastic placement records. This year also it got 100% placement. There are offers for various roles in marketing, finance, consulting, operations, product management, and general management, and it involves the participation of world-renowned organisations. A total of 170 organisations visited the campus, providing a total of 520 job openings. IIM has a 100% placement rate, with the majority of the organisations coming from the consulting, financial services, marketing, and information technology industries. The highest domestic CTC was 60 lakhs, with an average package of roughly 28.5 lakhs.

The current institute cost is Rs. 23 lakh for a period of two years. Students can apply for scholarships to help them financially. Also, college provides good loan facilities as they have tie-up with certain banks and it helps students to take loan . IIMC has some of the finest placement rates in the industry.

The IIM-C campus is stunning, and the lake view only adds to its allure. Despite the fact that we were not able to spend much time on campus due to covid. Our clubs included the Choreography Club, Consulting Club, Dramatics Cell, E-Cell, etc and there was never a quiet moment throughout my year here till now. Throughout the year, the committees host a range of activities and festivals, ensuring that everyone has a good time and that there are plenty of opportunities for students to interact. Even though my year was quite hectic and I had to pull all-nighters on occasion, it has been incredibly exciting for me to be able to follow my interests here, despite the fact that my year was quite stressful and I had to do all-nighters on occasion.

This year, there was no group discussion once the shortlist was announced. For admission to IIM Calcutta, there was a personal interview that served as an evaluating criterion. The interview was conducted by teachers from IIM Calcutta, and the questions spanned from broad topics to where you belong. Candidates with work experience were also asked detailed questions about their work experience. The entire process was online due to covid.
