Course Curriculum Overview

5

Considering the course curriculum for the 1st sem the subjects involved in it are very practical based helping us to understand the dynamics of the business world, upcoming subjects also include not only industry knowledge but also soft skills and professional skills which would help us. The amount of resources the college has right from news paper journals to Harvard case studies which help us learn a lot about the actual business world.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Bank of America, Citi Bank, Deutsche Bank, Gaja Capital, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JPMC, Macquarie Group, Moelis & Company, Morgan Stanley. Accenture Strategy, Bain & Co., Boston Consulting Group, Ernst and Young, Kearney, Mastercard, McKinsey & Co. and PwC were amongst the top recruiters in the Consulting cohorts. Placement Experience

5

So the first phase of placements is summer internship, which starts around October during the 2nd term of the first year and the average placements are around 1.5l per month. The second one is final placements which are in the 6th term that is in 2nd year. The placements here are 100% with an average placements of 35lpa and median of 34lpa. The highest placement was about 1.4crore pa. The placements report is here https://www.iimcal.ac.in/sites/default/files/pdfs/placement_report_2023.pdf

Fees and Financial Aid

So the total cost of MBA would come upto 27lakhs for hostel and tuition and other than that mess charges would be around a maximum of 2lakhs for 2years, totalling it to a maximum amount of 30 lakhs for the course. The college also provides need based financial assistance which would open in the month of July for students having annual family income less than 7-8lakhs something. The summers here is a bit good averaging about 1.5lakhs per month and also very helpful for freshers because of the number of freshers here making them almost 40%, the average placements are almost 35lpa and the job roles offered are great making it one of the top three colleges in India.

Campus Life

5

There are many clubs including academic clubs and also known academy clubs such as finance club consulting club and analytics club which come under academic clubs. Some of the clubs like dancing or cultural club or something like quiz club music club are also involved in many different activities throughout the year which help us also maintain our extra curricular activities along with our studies and all the clubs are run by students of the second year batch. Along with this there are many sports meets also like the internal sports meets and the faculty student sports meet and the sports meet of IIM Ahmedabad Bangalore Calcutta and Lucknow and another sports meet of XLRI Jamshedpur and I am Calcutta.

Hostel Facilities

3

Show the hostel fees is included in the tuition fee only, so there are basically 5 or 6 hostels in our campus providing different types of rooms in each hostel the room in my hostel is proximately with a size of 15 x 10 and we have been provided with a bad and cupboard study table chair and bookshelf and mirror. Surviving in this weather in this room is a bit difficult making this room to you made if the door is closed all the day and also purchasing a fan from outside and then using it all the day is the only option left for us.

Admission

The eligibility for this course is having a bachelor's degree with minimum of 55% of marks and then the cut off for CAT exam varies from student to student. They calculate the composite scores for every student considering different factors like academic background, work experience, gender diversity, past academics, etc. I would recommend that the institute should have a fair shortlisting criteria which should be disclosed to everyone because I saw people topping the CAT exam still not getting calls from institute because of their strict criteria especially for general engineer male.

Faculty

4

The faculties here are good being very open to doubtsin the classroom itself making the classroom very interactive but considering few subjects like corporate financial reporting and analysis which is a new subject to majority of engineers it's a bit fast for which college should have assigned any junior coordinator to help students with issues in the subject.

Interview Experience

4.5

Basically first there was this CAT exam after getting shortlisted in CAT exam getting an interview call after the interview call the in the interview there was written ability test and also a personal interview the topic of my return ability test was, How are dating apps like tinder bumble aisle etc has been encouraging short term relationships casual datings. The gen z has had failed in understanding meaning of romance and love and marriage share ur thoughts on this. Along with this there was an interview which lasted around 15 minutes asking the current affairs and my past academic and HR questions after the interview the results were released after span of 3 months. So for the interviews basically I brushed up my academics which I have studied in my undergraduate, and also keeping up to date of all the news and current affairs happening in the world along with which I practiced talking to myself in mirror making me look confident and giving mock interviews helping me more confident.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the course only because of our HOD, but after completing my course, he left the course. He has helped us with all the things like web development and seo skills. By doing it practically for every student, he offers a domain for every student. I had difficulty with Google Ads & meta ads because it was taught by another faculty. The exam times were different by 3 months.

Till now I am seeing in my own eyes that in previous year, there is a 270 student in marketing and now right now the 15 student left to place and rest of the team are already placed to a many companies like ENYF Flipkart in Bandan Bank ICICI bank in a mini sector in FMCG also and FMCT also, but and retail, but I told that the ratio of placement is too higher than other college and also giving the good package is. The main thing with the job rule should be maintain the package.

It is one of the renowned institutes in Kolkata. But after admission got the clear msg. It is renowned for its engineering degree only not for PGDM or MBA. They even dont have proper faculties to teach students. I majored in Business Analytics, but back to then in 2019 there was not even one teacher who have subject knowledge.

The good things I like is that the teachers teach through the slides prepared by himself and also told student to prepare PowerPoint presentation and deliver in the class and also give different case study to solve the problem. Only missing thing is that the student are getting less practical knowledge as compare to theory paper.

The good thing about this college are the activities that take place every Saturday, which is quite interesting and knowledgeable. The bad thing about the college is that the departments are divided on the basis of their courses so the students do not gather as a whole bunch of college.
