IIMC college review

Enrolling at IIM Kolkata was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I enrolled in an MBA at IIM Kolkata due to my strong interest in the subject. My growing interest in business and management prompted me to apply for this programme, which I intended to complete entirely at IIM Kolkata. I had to submit my CAT score as well as my undergraduate, 12th, and 10th-grade mark sheets when I applied. My undergraduate, 12th, and 10th-grade diplomas were only used to evaluate my academic abilities. After clearing cutoff I had to go through an interview and it was a good overall experience.

The PGP course is IIM Calcutta's flagship course, and IIM Calcutta is one of India's top management institutes. The faculty is world-class, and their teaching methods are tailored to the needs of the industry. The core curriculum includes the development of critical skills and knowledge in economics, marketing and sales, product management, finance, and consulting. Exams are held on a regular basis. The institute operates on a trimester system, with an internship following the third term. The student-faculty ratio is about 10:1.

This year, approximately 140 recruiters took part in the process for a pool of students, extending offers and providing opportunities in a variety of roles such as Operations & General Management, Finance, Consulting, Sales & Marketing. BCG, McKinsey, Bain, Amazon, and Microsoft were among the major recruiters on campus. The class was completely placed, with an average stipend of around 1.2 lakh.

IIM Calcutta is in an excellent location. There were 172 companies on campus, offering approximately 520 jobs. IIM C had a 100% placement rate, with the majority of companies coming from Consulting, BFSI, Marketing, and IT. The average package was around 28.5 lakhs, with the highest domestic CTC being 60 lakhs.

The institute fee currently is about 23 lakh for two years. The ROI for my college is really good. There are scholarships offered to students to support them financially and also with good academic records. Also, college provide loan facilities that help students to pay the fees.

IIM-C is having a beautiful campus and the lake makes it more beautiful. IIM Kolkata is giving me to some truly incredible clubs, including the finance club, the Choreography Club, the Consulting Club, the Dramatics Cell, and the E-Cell. The committees host a variety of events and festivals throughout the year. I won't deny that I had some sleepless nights, but overall, this was one of the best experiences I am having though it is online. Not only have I learned a lot through the exciting journey of group projects and events, but I have also learned a lot academically. It makes our social life really good and exciting with many discussions and ideas.

We did not get much time to stay at campus because of the covid situation. The hostel facility is good. Students are accommodated in a single-occupancy hostel with shared restrooms. Each hostel has its own shambles. The food provided is of high quality. The hostel committee decides on the allocation process. The majority of students only stay in hostels because the facilities are good.

There was no GD this year. Due to covid, the process happened online. I had an interview after clearing cutoff. The interview was based on basic hygiene questions, Work expirience and normal current questions. It was a good expirience. To prepare one should be good with the hygiene questions, should build confidence and also know about their work ex properly if you have any.
