Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course to develop business acumen and the better job offers that come with the IIM brand Being in a classroom of 80, so far I've had 20+ professors take classes in the span of one year. So, decent ratio. Teaching is case-based a lot of the time. Otherwise, it is lecture-based, sometimes with graded class participation Faculty are well qualified, well spoken, mostly PhDs Term exams are easy to pass with minimal effort
Internships Opportunities
Stipend offered averages around 1.75L on day 1, 1.5L on day 2, 80k on day 3 All big consulting firms come for placements, including MBBK. Big ProdMan companies like Microsoft, and Google also come. Their stipends vary across roles, averaging 1.5L. Projects are client specific and will be made clear only once you're onboarded to the role
Placement Experience
Students have summer internship placements in their second term, the month of September. Final placements happen in the second year during February. More than 120 companies visit with roles across Consulting, ProdMan, GenMan, etc. Avg package is around 20LPA I plan to work after getting a degree
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure: 3-4 lakhs per term. there are 3 terms in a year Total 25 lakhs for course Other expenses can amount to 6000-15000 depending on lifestyle Scholarships available: many I applied to the ministry of minority affairs scholarship
Campus Life
College fest name is 7 lakes fest held in November The library has a good collection of books. I don't use though AC classroom + cafeteria + projector + white and blackboards The sports culture is good with facilities for tennis, squash, table tennis, pool, football, frisbee List of clubs available on the website
Hostel Facilities
Fan and light are available in the room. No AC, even though it's sorely needed The food menu is the same across all 4 messes. However taste differs, depending on the mess contractor. Hostel registration is automatic and randomly allotted. Due to the lack of AC, rooms are not worth the hefty course fees of the premise institute.
Admission
I Wrote CAT to apply to all Indian Institutes of Management. Each section had a cut-off of 20 marks or so. Got selected for the PI round of the Indian institute of management Calcutta and qualified to feature in the first waitlist
Interview Experience
I faced an interview. Enrolled on career launcher's gd program to help me prepare. Gave a lot of mock interviews and studied current affairs extensively. I watched the news and followed journalists to make sure I stayed upto date with current affairs
