Remarks

I applied to IP university but I got a better opportunity in SGGSCC. I received the Sikh minority quota. The admission criteria consist of minimum marks in 12th and cutoff of DUJAT. Our counselling process was made online, faced no issues at all.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

BBE course interested me. In my department, the faculty student ratio is quite good. The faculty is very very highly qualified ad experienced. Although they use old techniques of teaching and are not very good for online mode, they give their best. In online mode exams are just a formality. Exams are held twice a year.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The placement cell offers the best companies to 3rd year students, the worst internships are offered to 1st year students. I have not been part of an internship or project of any sort nor do I plan to be.

Placement Experience

3

I don't know much about placements, I am not interested. I know a lot of reputed companies come to campus. The average package is around 6 LPA. I intend to go for MBA after degree completion, so I don't have a lot of knowledge about placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Comparing the fees to other universities, DU provides a very low cost of education. I received no financial assistance neither did I require one. I have heard that there is ample assistance available for the needy.

Campus Life

4

There are a ton of fests in the college, because of many reputed clubs on campus. The library staff is a bit uncooperative, but one can get things done. The library has good sources. Since the mode of education is online, I have no knowledge of classrooms yet. The college has a lot many amenities for extracurricular and sports activities, but are partially active because of the online mode.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college offers a good mix of theory and real-life application, making it a good choice for anyone genuinely curious about how the human mind works. It also balances academics with hands-on experiences—students don’t just read about psychology in theory, they actually get to practice it through labs, experiments, internships, and field visits. Regular workshops, seminars, and presentations keep the learning process interactive and help build communication and analytical skills that are useful both inside and outside the classroom. Recently a resilience workshop was held by an alumni of MSCW, where we got deeper insights about how resilience can be built, how coping works and how some coping techniques can be bad for u.

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. Otherwise research or political expert roles are the only roles offered to Hindi Hons students. Since I want a complete command I will be doing masters in Hindi Hons.

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

Placement Experience:

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

So there is a placement cell here in LSR that serves as a mediator between recruiters and students and provide adequate placement opportunities for students from various departments. The course curriculum I took is okay considering the low placement percentage from the college's side which is I would say sometimes bad and good at the same time as the students can find their own way around such things. Faculty just complete the topics. we have to study ourselves.
