Kamala Nehru College English (H) course Review

I applied for Gargi College, Daulat Ram College other than Kamala Nehru. I didn't attend Gargi and DRC due to less percentage. The admission criteria for Kamala Nehru College were based on the merit score for class 12th. The process was very smooth. The teachers and student volunteers helped through it. Not only this, but the college computer lab was also accessible for the students to take out the necessary printouts. There wasn't any counselling. Onthe first day the teachers were introduced only.

I opted for B.A. English (H). The faculty ratio was 5:50. Most of the faculties had done their M.Phil and Ph.D. Other than that the teaching methods were great. The exams and internals were very timely, and the difficulty level was intermediate. Students who prepared thoroughly and attended classes regularly found exams very easy because most of the discussions were done during the lectures.

The roles offered under internships were that of trainers, content writers, graphic designers, social media marketers. There weren't any projects offered. Other than that there is a unit called R.I.S.E wherein students can collaborate with professors and help them with their researches. It not only gives first-hand exposure to collecting, studying, and analyzing data but also helps students wanting to pursue research a better idea of the field.

The placement cell is very active and has tied up with great companies. We had EY, KPMG, ORAD, and many other startups. The highest package was 5LPA. And the average package per company was 3 LPA. The profiles ranged from a marketing executive, social media strategists, teachers, counselors, trainers, business development executive, etc. Around 80% of students got placed out of the people sitting for placements. After my degree, I am planning to pursue B.Ed from Delhi University itself.

The fee was consistent throughout the three-year graduation. No hike was done and the fees were not very high either. The scholarships were available on the basis of merit and the performance of the student across academics and extracurricular. I didn't apply for placements but the companies that came were really good.

Campus life is really good. The annual fest is 'ULLAS'. Department fests are also held across the year. Kamala Nehru has the best library across Delhi University. The classrooms are well adept and the infrastructure is manageable. Sports and extracurricular activities are encouraged. Around 4 social groups and clubs are available. Ranging from enabling the unit to a green beans society involving activities like planting.
