Entrance Preview

Firstly let me tell there was no admission test for Geography Hons course.Admission was done on basis of percentage scored in class XII. Why Geography- I always wanted to study something with which I can relate to in my life.

Internships Opportunities

Various companies come to the college. As the college has a good academic record good companies like KPMG,E & Y,ICICI Prudential,Indigo visit the college. Few students are taken for internship by companies like MTV,Cashkaro,Smartican.They provide stipend between Rs1.5-2 lakh per annum.

Placement Experience

At my time placement cell was not formed.It was formed in 2006 named PROSPICO. Its quite active and informs the students as and when big companies are coming for interview.

College Events

Culturally this college is very active. Almost everyday the auditorium is full,something is happening. Either debate or fashion show or dance competition. The college has various groups like group of Indian and western dance,Fashion and drama also.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible. At my year 2004 the fees was Rs 3000-Rs 4000. In third year the fees was more than the two years but not more than Rs 5000. At present I believe for arts and humanities subjects its Rs 9900 per year, but in all three years the fee is not same.

Fees and Financial Aid

This is a government college,few scholarship schemes are available. For these students need to approach college administration.Few banks offer loan also.

Hostel Facilities

Kamala Nehru college doesn't have the hostel of its own. The students who come from outside stay in nearby PG's. The rent depends ranging from Rs 8000 to Rs 10,000.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is existing but its newly setup so needs to be more active. Include more students so that they can share their experiences. It will be more successful only when more students will be a part of it.

Many companies come as ever since USME has been installed at the east campus the tie-ups with the brands happened before that. So we were etaught accordingly the war corporate wanted us and that is how this has been done with solid precision and thus our placements have never jolted.

There is a placement cell in Hansraj College which does provides placements of highest package around 25 lakh of last year and being median package around 7 lakhs, but this for selective courses like economics and BCom Honours and computer science Honours & few of mathematics honours while rest of the courses required to have different kind of skill sets can also go for placement depending up on the role that the companies bring to be hired for

DTU is Totally Worth Spending Time At!

Placement Experience:

Campus placements have been good from what I have noticed this year. BBA and BAE students get almost the same packages and same companies hire the students. Average package for BAE students is 5.5 Lakhs and for BBA it's a little high at 6 lakhs or so.

Our college has a very active and effective placement cell. Major companies like Goldman Sachs, Bain among many others come on campus for not just placements but also internships. Average and Median packages are between 8 and 10 lakh per annum, with highest packages going up to 25 lakhs. Many also go for postgraduate education, such as MBA after CAT, or to reputed colleges like the DSE for MA.

Tale of a First Year

Placement Experience:

The college Offers campus placements which are mostly in the private sector. Students are eligible for Campus Placements after Completing the 4th semester or we say on completion second year. Many companies are brought on board By the placement cell of the college. In this list also Mkinsey, EY, KPMG, Which are some of the prominent rulers of their industries. The median package offered to UG was 6 lakhs per annum, Top 9 students were offered a median salary of 9,00,000 per annum. Around 490 were placed From campus placements of the college out of 1300 students eligible For the placements, These are only approximate figures and not exact. The highest package offered from the college is around 14,00,000 per annum. Talking about my plans after getting the degree is going for highest studies, Either Masters in economics or MBA in business economics.

KM COLLEGE - FILLED WITH COMPLAINTS ?

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .

Placement Experience:

I would say the placement opportunities are more available for science , commerce background students in the college there are rarely any placement opportunities for humanities background students . Mostly students starts engaging in placement in the fifth semester .severky companies visited campus every year including Deloitte , EY.TCS etc . Around 40 - 50 percent students from professional courses get the placement annually .even for the students not opting for placement the exposure n the strong alumni network of college help them secure good opportunities outside campus

KNC, DU honest review as someone from outside Delhi

I applied for multiple other colleges in DU. Like hindi, Venky and SBSE. I was alloted by CUET according to my prefernce list.
