St. Xavier's College : The heart of Kolkata

I choose this college because I was a student of commerce background and I wanted to Pursue B.Com Hons. from a prestigious college. The merits of St. Xavier's College are as follows: It's one of the best colleges in India The commerce faculty is great here. The teachers' are very helpful and supportive. There are different societies that bring out the best in you. The demerits are as follows: The college is very hectic. The compulsory percentage of attendance needed is very high.

I am a student of commerce background and I always wanted to Pursue B.Com Hons. for my undergraduation. Getting this college, I feel myself to be privileged and honored. The teachers are very intelligent and well versed in everything and they teach us with ease. They are very supportive in whatever we do. At the time of exams, we didn't find any difficulty because we were so well trained about it.

The placement percentage of the college is around 94%. The average salary package offered for freshers is 1.5 LPA. The highest salary package offered can be up to 4 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is around 1 LPA. All interested students get internships in various research laboratories, diagnostic companies, food and water industries, and also in various biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Some of the top recruiting companies include Medreich, Indoco, BCIL, Suraksha Diagnostic, Lal Pathlabs, various CSIR and DBT research institutes all over India, Biocon, etc. Top roles are mostly offered in the research and development wing of industries and PhD supervisor, principal investigator, quality control, clinical analysis, etc.

The fee of my college is quite high because it's not a full government college and the whole of the fundings is not received by the government as it's a semi-government college. The fee for 1 semester is around 25,000 and the fee for the whole year is around? 45,000. The fee for the whole course is around 1,30,000. There is some reduction in the fees for the weaker section of the society. The reserved category of students enjoys some of the benefits.

Xavotsav is the annual national-level cultural fest organized by St. Xavier's College. It is an exciting college fest that is sponsored by popular brands such as Jet Airways and Skybags. It hosts a wide variety of events such as treasure hunts, music shows, concerts, and dance performances. It is a 3-day college festival and is generally celebrated in the month of January. The different societies and clubs help us to build our personality and give us many opportunities to work and help us to know our intrest areas.
