Remarks

Maitreyi College is one the best Delhi University colleges in terms of infrastructure and greenery. However, the opportunity offers to us is commendable. There are many seminars organized by our department. Teachers of our course are very supportive and well qualified as well. The library is fully equipped. Since I took admission in the year 2019 at that time admissions were offline. We need to fill a large form of 2-3 pages and then we have to verify our documents from the assigned teachers. After a little wait and by paying the fees of our course we are done with admission. Moreover, parents are not allowed to come along with us for admission they have to wait outside. Maitreyi College is among the popular college of DU and it has a good rank in NIRF ranking. The college has a fully equipped library and labs. Moreover, the atmosphere is quite friendly. The college garden is cover with beautiful flowers. I read articles of duupdates, collegedunia, Shiksha

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose this course because of my interest in physics and I was very keen to learn how this world works around physics. If we talk about the faculty and students ratio it's roughly 1:3 If I have to rate teachers then I will go with 9/10. The teachers of our department are well qualified and we learn a lot from them. However, the teaching method of every teacher is different but all of them are best. We usually have to appear for exams after 6 months. You can easily clear the exam by studying daily a little bit. The level of exams is neither that high nor that easy. 10 years will help you to learn the paper pattern, you must go through it once before exams.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placements of our course are not up to the mark. However, many companies visit the college at the time of the placement fair but I don't find them useful for my course. You can choose for an internship to enhance your CV

Fees and Financial Aid

Delhi University is a government college and the fees are not as high as the private colleges. One can easily afford it and we have to pay fees yearly. You can apply for SHE / INSPIRE SCHOLARSHIP, you will get 60,000 every year as a benefit. They release cutoff and if you are eligible then the money will be transferred to your bank. You need to fill the form after your 12th results.

Campus Life

3.5

Rhapsody is the annual cultural fest of Maitreyi College. It is conducted every year in February. It's organized at a large scale and a singer ( Bollywood/Punjabi ) is invited to make Rhapsody a great hit. All books of our course are easily available in the library. Moreover, there are 5-8 copies available of a single book. It's okay, sometimes we run out of rooms due to a shortage of rooms. But our teachers usually manage it. We have a college group at back and the best part is that we can go and play any game whenever we are free. We can borrow balls and other equipment from the sports room and return them. There are many NGOs and other clubs (Dance, singing, theatre)

Other Applied Colleges

Motilal Nehru College | BSC Physics hons

I think the infrastructure and the opportunities in maitreyi college are much better than the Motilal college

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think the BSc Statistics (H) offered by Sri Venkateshwara College has been quite relevant and comprehensive in content. The core courses such as probability, inference, regression, and econometrics were the major reasons for opting for the subject of statistics. It provides us in-depth analytical training that is necessary for higher education and work in the field of data, though there is a need for exposure to software/tools as well. The semester-wise examination, which is moderately tough

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is just like any other college, and you need to do a lot of the skill enhancement by yourself. Here, you will learn something, but not everything that is relevant. The professors will teach according to the syllabus, be it really relevant in real life or not. Everything that you will be learning will be relevant for career in this field, but not enough. You require to put some extra efforts to gain more knowledge and practice.

Placement Experience:

Students typically become eligible from 3rd year/6th semester onwards for most companies. Some internships and tech roles may be available to 2nd-year students depending on the company criteria. Placement Percentage: Usually, 70–85% of eligible students get placed, depending on the stream. Highest placement rates are often in Computer Science, Economics, and Commerce streams. My plan is to become a software engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum is highly relevant. It covers fundamental and advanced concepts of zoology , which was the main reason I choose this course. Subjects like human physiology, biochemistry, biomolecules, comparative anatomy of vertebrates, animal behaviour, ...etc. are highly interested and align with my interest. Practical components help in developing and understanding concepts more clearly. However, real world applications is limited. Curriculum prepare students well for further academics for PG or other competitive exams. Exam system is conducted at regular intervals with Internal assessment and semester end. Timings are appropriate . Difficulty level is moderate to high.

Hindu College, Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Mathematics)
Reviewed on Jan 6, 2026(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

For B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics at Hindu College, the curriculum follows the latest DU UGCF?2022 structure, so it covers both strong theory and some modern applications. The main reason to choose this course is the depth in core areas like Calculus, Algebra, Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Probability, which builds a very solid base for higher studies like M.Sc, data science or research. There are six semesters with continuous internal assessment plus end?semester exams, so students study regularly instead of only before finals. Exams are usually moderate to difficult because questions are concept?based, but the pattern is fair and gives weightage to assignments, tutorials and attendance. Overall, the course is quite comprehensive and relevant for careers in teaching, analytics, government exams and higher academics, though adding more practical projects, programming and real?life modelling could make it even more industry?oriented
