Maitreyi College: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 5 Reviews

The college offers an educational environment where faculty prioritize clear understanding of concepts over mere syllabus completion. While practical aspects can be strict, this approach is supplemented by presentations that enhance student comprehension. The fee structure is affordable, particularly when compared to other colleges. The college is working on improving facilities, such as hostels, to better match the affordability of its fees. Placement opportunities present a mixed picture. While many companies engage in placement events, success varies by field, with commerce and arts students seeing more favorable outcomes.

Internships arranged by the college offer stipends between Rs 500 and Rs 700, along with certificates and recommendation letters, adding value to students' CVs. However, for some courses, placements are less favorable, making internships a crucial addition. Scholarships are available for SC/ST students at Delhi University, contingent upon the submission of a family income certificate and meeting performance criteria. As a government institution, Delhi University maintains lower annual fees than private colleges.

Students can also apply for the SHE/INSPIRE Scholarship, which provides Rs 60,000 annually, contingent on eligibility based on cutoffs, with funds directly deposited into students' bank accounts. The fee structure is course-dependent, with multiple scholarships available based on caste categories, and applications generally occur after 12th-grade results are announced.
