Maitreyi College Admission Process 2026

Given below is the step-wise  admission process of Maitreyi College .

Step 1: Register for the Entrance Examination

Maitreyi College admissions to all UG & PG courses are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. To apply for admission, candidates must register for the following entrance examinations:

Candidates applying for CUET must select Delhi University while filling out the application form. Additionally, they must choose subjects for which they have appeared or qualified in the last qualifying exam.

Step 2: Appear for the Entrance Exam

Candidates who filled out the application form must appear for the entrance examination as per the schedule.

Step 3: Registration on DU CSAS Portal and Filling of Courses and College Preferences

Candidates who have qualified the entrance examinations register on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Portal of Delhi University for the DU seat allotment. Once the registration is done, candidates will be asked to fill in their college and course preferences.

Step 4: Seat Allocation

The seat allocation for all courses will be done in multiple rounds. Delhi University is going to release the merit lists in two categories: Common Merit List and Category 2 Merit List (for PG courses only). The Common Merit List (CML) is open to all candidates. However, for the Category 2 Merit List (C2ML), only students who have graduated from Delhi University will be considered for admission to PG programs.

Step 5: Blocking of Seats and Final Admission

  • Upon declaration of merit list, candidates can check the list by logging in to their CSAS dashboard for acceptance of the allocated seat, if offered.
  • Once a seat has been allocated to candidate in a particular round, the candidate must 'Accept' the allocated seat before the last date/time in a given time period.
  • Once the candidate accepts the provisionally allocated seat, the college administration will approve the seat allotment by checking the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate. Upon approval of the seat allotment by the college, candidates will have to pay the admission fee to confirm their seat.

AI-Generated Summary based on 65 Reviews

Admission to the B.Sc. (Physical Science with Computer Science) program at Delhi University (DU) is primarily based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Applicants must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, along with a language subject among English or Hindi. The CUET is a multiple-choice test derived mainly from the Class 12 NCERT syllabus. The expected cutoff for sciences ranges from 550 to 600 out of 800, though humanities courses may require scores above 650.

Admissions involve filling out the CUET application, which typically opens in late February or early March, followed by DU admission forms to express college preferences. The application fee varies according to selected subjects. Admission processes include multiple rounds of counseling, and reservation benefits are provided for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and other categories as per institutional policies. South Campus colleges like Maitreyi are accessible within the expected cutoffs, although they may have different benchmarks compared to North Campus institutes.

The streamlined admission process emphasizes preparation through practice with past questions and adequate time management. Overall, the CUET is manageable with thorough preparation and dedication to Class 12 studies.

I chose this college because it was an all-girls college. I wanted to go to Miranda, but the cutoff there was too high, and I couldn't make it. The admission process was simple. We register on the DU UG portal, fill the application form. After the cutoff was announced, we were allotted colleges according to our percentage. After choosing the college from the option, we have to pay the required fee to secure our seat.

I have applied to aryabhatta College before Maitreyi College for Women. So comparison to this college Maitreyi colleges stands out on various aspects:- Before 2024 the admission process is entirely dependent on merit list and the cutoffs. But from 2024 the admission process changed and now Cuet Exam is mandatory. A valid score of cuet and 12 th class is required. For English Honours course one must score good to get a dream college.

Admission:

I got accepted into this college through CUET, and Du assigns you your college according to your marks. This college is decent. I applied for every college there is in Du, but I didn't make it to the top colleges above this colleges because my marks were not that high. I could not study. I did not study enough to reach higher enough, so I got allotted this college. Admission process was very easy, it was all online. We submitted all our documents, essential documents to the colleges online, and then they verified it, then they took my admission.I like the admission experience because it was very easy and fast. However, being in this college for 3 years now, I actually like the college infrastructure better than other DU colleges, plus the faculty. As it is a girls college, I think that is why there is more discipline compared to co-ed colleges. Luckily, I have the nicest faculty there could be possible. I have actually no problem with the faculty, like honestly.Very happy with the experience I've had over the three years with this college.
