Inside Maitreyi College

Likes

The academic environment is disciplined and study oriented which helps students to stay focused on exam and conceptual clarity
Faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive, and most teachers explain concepts clearly with exam oriented guidance
Being a women's college the girls to boys ratio is almost 100:0, insuring a safe and comfortable space for female students

Dislikes

Campus life and social exposure are limited compared to Coed colleges of the university
Campus opportunities are available but limited sole student must rely largely on self effort for career
Infrastructure is functional, But needs modernization especially classrooms and student common areas

Admission:

I chose Maitreyi College for its academic focus, safety as a women's college, And the reputation. I applied two other colleges but missed higher cut offs. Admissions is CUET , merit based smooth and transparent

I liked my college campus and the garden
I liked my sports ground and especially basketball court
I liked commerce faculty they supportive and understand our problems

Dislikes

Our canteen food is not good in quality and quantity
We have less number of buildings and auditorium
Our college societies are so toxic they didn't understand our problems

I applied for the north campus or Delhi University but I got the south campus college of delhi university. I got the less marks in cuet do according to that I got south campus. We have to give the cuet exam according to that college are alloted eligibility is 12th pass student and there is different cutoffs for different colleges.

It is a women's college that's is the plus point as everyone is ready to help you.
The professor's here are truly amazing. There teaching style is just good.
The evergreen Maitreyi Society's. You will get all kind of exposure to different activities here.

Dislikes

The attendance here was very strict although you have been an active part of the society you have to maintain your attendance.
The admin office was not so active and slow sometimes which was frustrating.
The canteen tenure used to get changed in every month and there was not such good food quality.

Admission:

I chose this college because it was an all-girls college. I wanted to go to Miranda, but the cutoff there was too high, and I couldn't make it. The admission process was simple. We register on the DU UG portal, fill the application form. After the cutoff was announced, we were allotted colleges according to our percentage. After choosing the college from the option, we have to pay the required fee to secure our seat.

College campus is having a good ecosystem
Seniors are very good, they will help you in very condition.

Dislikes

Campus is very small that huge gatherings are not possible
There are no breaks for lunch, you have to continuously reach to the lecture

Admission:

The college is located in a very safe area and the ecosystem is good, and it provides wide range of opportunities in different fields. The exams accepted by the university is CUET only. Cutoffs differ every year based on course and category.

i really the environment of the college , especially its a girl college so our safety is at priority, we can dress like we want without feeling unsafe.
there are multiple societies to choose from like dance to music, drama, fashion and also state and region specfic societies like north eastern and pahadi societies which are open for all the students to apply for.
one thing about maitreyi that i really love is our gardens, which are well maintained and we have also won so many awards in best garden among the campus

Dislikes

one thing i dislike is infrastructure of the buildings, although the classrooms are equiped with projectors but fans sometimes doesnt function well.
our admin department can sometimes be really hectic to work with, we have to visit muiltple time to get our work done which is really annoying

my first perfence was delhi unviersity and i got maitreyi college in first round of csas portal i was definitely happy with maitreyi college i didnt go any futher upgradation i didnt get rejected from any college as my cuet score was good so i knew i would land in delhi university the process for delhi university is through giving cuet exam with easy and multiple choice based most preferred course in du is BCOM(H) BCOM P and after that economic hons pol science hons etc

I was in English department and I must appreciate that english department of maitreyi college is well maintained
The environment of the College, the vibes, nature
Some teachers who are phd qualified or has experience they teach very well. They teach the curriculum in detailed manner which strengthens your knowledge. They focus not only on internal syllabus but also provided the outer world experience.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of some classes are quite bad . For example: the fans, walls etc.

Admission:

I have applied to aryabhatta College before Maitreyi College for Women. So comparison to this college Maitreyi colleges stands out on various aspects:- Before 2024 the admission process is entirely dependent on merit list and the cutoffs. But from 2024 the admission process changed and now Cuet Exam is mandatory. A valid score of cuet and 12 th class is required. For English Honours course one must score good to get a dream college.

Admission:

I got admission on the basis of cut off(12th board exams).The admission process is quite easy and smooth. Eligibilty-sholud have completed 12 with atleast 45% of marks and have Physics, chemistry and biology as compulsory subject with .The aggregate of the mentioned subject should be atleast 45%. Need to clear CUET as well.

Campus, faculty, people of the college were very cooperative
Atmosphere around was very good, everyone was very helpful
Activities, fests and the arrangements of fests were very good

Dislikes

Canteen, the food was not that good and hygiene issues

Admission:

I chose this college because of it's reputation and ranking, location and environment, faculty quality, my seniors from school were also in maitreyi. Maitreyi is better than different colleges because of location, environment, extracurricular, crowd , etc. When I applied for delhi university it was a merit based admission.

Life in du (girls college)

Likes

Faculty , their teaching methods, mentor ship quality, they explain everything very nicely
Beautiful green campus, it has a lot of different species of trees with name tags so that you can also learn about nature
Nice infrastructure with recently new science block opened

Dislikes

Could have a little bit betrer infrastructure need better and bigger classrooms
Canteen needs to improved with proper hygiene
Should add more new edition books to the library

Admission:

I got accepted into this college through CUET, and Du assigns you your college according to your marks. This college is decent. I applied for every college there is in Du, but I didn't make it to the top colleges above this colleges because my marks were not that high. I could not study. I did not study enough to reach higher enough, so I got allotted this college. Admission process was very easy, it was all online. We submitted all our documents, essential documents to the colleges online, and then they verified it, then they took my admission.I like the admission experience because it was very easy and fast.However, being in this college for 3 years now, I actually like the college infrastructure better than other DU colleges, plus the faculty. As it is a girls college, I think that is why there is more discipline compared to co-ed colleges. Luckily, I have the nicest faculty there could be possible. I have actually no problem with the faculty, like honestly.Very happy with the experience I've had over the three years with this college.

The infrastructure of our college is quite good and the well maintained garden adds to its beauty.
The different societies which are run by students are quite popular in the whole University.
The library of our college is very huge and have all kinds of resource, and even we have access to digital library.

Dislikes

Tha canteen of our college is not that much good.
There are some issues related to drinking water also
The class rooms should be Aur Conditioned like staff room but it's not.

Admission:

I have applied to many good co-ed colleges of Delhi University like Hindu and Venky but was not able to get into those because of my low CUET UG score. And this college is also good but not that good and in relation to my marks this was the best option available to me at that time.
