What Students Say
Likes
- Boys to girls ratio is fine. While for several courses like Hindi hons,it's not so good but for course like computer science,it's very good .
- The college is good in case of placements. It has its own placement cell and provides a decent average placement.
- The faculty is very good in teaching with an exception of few .
Dislikes
- The fees of the course is very high as compared to other colleges. It should not be this much high.
- Although the college has resource room for providing help to those who can't afford laptop, the resource room is closed on Saturday and Sundays and also it is closed after 3p.m.everyday.
- There is a lot of network issue in college especially in Library.Although college provides wifi facility ,but that is not of good quality.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is not so application based as it feels by name .While the foundational knowledge is taught by the teachers but for industrial skills ,you have learn by yourself . Also the NEP has introduced very irrelevant subjects which are of no use related to the course. The teaching method is fine but there can be improvement if industrial knowledge is also given to students. The exams frequency and timings made almost no issue except for those who have to come from far places.
Placement Experience
Students typically become eligible from 3rd year/6th semester onwards for most companies. Some internships and tech roles may be available to 2nd-year students depending on the company criteria. Placement Percentage: Usually, 70–85% of eligible students get placed, depending on the stream. Highest placement rates are often in Computer Science, Economics, and Commerce streams. My plan is to become a software engineer.

Campus Life
Campus life at Hansraj College is vibrant and well-rounded, offering a perfect balance of academics, social engagement, and extracurricular activities. Students participate in major festivals like HUMAAAN (cultural festival, February–March) and Bitwise (technical festival, January), along with departmental events, debates, and inter-college competitions. The college library is well-stocked with textbooks, reference materials, and national and international journals, while classrooms are spacious and equipped with smartboards, projectors, and Wi-Fi. Computer and specialized labs support hands-on learning, particularly in sciences and IT. Sports facilities include cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis, complemented by clubs for music, dance, drama, literary activities, and debate. Student-run societies, such as Ordinateur and various cultural and literary clubs, foster leadership, teamwork, and creativity, giving students opportunities to organize events, contribute to student portals, and build lasting networks. Overall, Hansraj College provides an environment that encourages holistic growth, combining academic rigor with cultural and social enrichment.
Admission
There are not so much college offering C.S. in North campus and Hansraj College is considered as the best of its kind as far as concerned in reference to CS . The admission process was same as that of DU. The admission was on the basis of CUET and csas portal simulated rank .The overall admission process was not too hectic.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is not so good .In subject like sec,vac it is even worse. One teacher has to handle class of 600 or 700. The faculty is good and approachable. I liked all my faculty because they are very nice and approachable.although there are some teachers who are quite freshers and because of which they face difficulty in handling class and teaching. There are not so much exams. In my first semester, there was single class exam taken in each subject on the basis of which we were given the IA marks. The exams were not so difficult yet some students find them difficult due to language issues(specially by foreign students). The introduction of NEP has made the course hectic by adding irrelevant subjects.
Night Life
While Hansraj College doesn’t have a typical city nightlife, students find plenty of ways to unwind after classes. Campus facilities like the library close by 6–7 PM, gyms until 7–8 PM, and cafeterias around 6 PM, while hostel quiet hours usually begin by 10 PM, ensuring a safe and structured environment. On-campus, students hang out in the canteen, lawns, courtyards, and hostel common rooms for casual chats or group studies. Nearby, the North Campus area offers cafés, dessert spots like Kwality Walls and The Big Chill, and markets such as GTB Nagar and Kamla Nagar for evening strolls and snacks. The locality is generally safe, especially in groups or early evenings. These evening routines—studying, socializing, or relaxing with friends—help students balance academics with leisure, build friendships, and make college life lively and memorable.
