Course Curriculum Overview

4

I think the BSc Statistics (H) offered by Sri Venkateshwara College has been quite relevant and comprehensive in content. The core courses such as probability, inference, regression, and econometrics were the major reasons for opting for the subject of statistics. It provides us in-depth analytical training that is necessary for higher education and work in the field of data, though there is a need for exposure to software/tools as well. The semester-wise examination, which is moderately tough

Internships Opportunities

4

Sri Venkateshwara College has internships through the placement cell and societies with companies such as KPMG, EY, Deloitte, ICICI, and startups. Positions include data analyst, research intern, and finance intern typically offering remuneration. Work may include data analysis, conducting surveys, research writing, and presenting.

Fees and Financial Aid

For BSc (Statistics) Honours in Sri Venkateswara College (SVC), being a General candidate, one must pay an average fee ranging from ?21,295 to ?23,605 a year. As a result, the total three-year fee can range from ?64,000 to ?70,000. The fee increment is roughly 5-10% per year because UDF was increased in 2025. Breakdown/Channeling of Fees and Even though the tuition charge is nominal (?180 to ?200), the primary amount comprises the UDF (?1,500), Lab/Computer charges (?3,000), and the Facilities/Service charges (?1,500). The one-time caution charges (?500) and the admission charges (?500) are applicable for the first year. However, the SC/ST classmates charge a considerably lower amount of ?6,770 per year, and the PwBD students pay around ?830 per year. Financial Aid Students with family income less than ?2.5 Lakh can apply for SVC College Freeship Scholarship, usually offering ?6,000 per annum. Meritorious Students are eligible for INSPIRE Scholarship (?80,000 per annum) or Merit-cum-Means Scholarship through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Academic achievement is further honored by Srimati Velagalety Suvarchalamba Memorial Prize.

Campus Life

4

My college life, at Sri Venkateshwara College, has been eventful and equally paced. The college's cultural fest Nexus (every year, Feb-Mar) and other educational events occupy students. The college library provides a copious amount of reading materials and online facilities. The classrooms are equipped with projectors.

Admission

I chose Sri Venkateshwara College because of a balanced academic schedule and renowned faculty. I applied to the best colleges of DU but could not qualify in the higher cutoffs of CUET. The best thing about SVC was their Stat (Hons) course and reasonable competition. Admission was done on the basis of CUET-UG and mandatory maths in 10+2.

Faculty

3

Faculty-to-student ratio is apt, and thus, interaction is good. The faculties are pretty approachable, supportive, and helpful even beyond class hours. I liked Prof muktikant sir and Veena ma'am more since they are clear in teaching and relate it to practical life. Some of the lectures seemed outdated. There were internal and end-semester exams; moderate difficulty, few failures. The curriculum is relevant and industry-oriented.

Night Life

5

The nightlife around Sri Venkateshwara College is only average but fun. The college campus and libraries are closed by evening, while the timings of the hostel’s in-time are strict. The hangouts for relaxation are in the cafés around, some spots around South Campus, gyms, and friends’ apartments. What happens late nights is either eating out or taking a walk. The vicinity of the South Campus is quite safe late at night, which further helps in making college life better.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is just like any other college, and you need to do a lot of the skill enhancement by yourself. Here, you will learn something, but not everything that is relevant. The professors will teach according to the syllabus, be it really relevant in real life or not. Everything that you will be learning will be relevant for career in this field, but not enough. You require to put some extra efforts to gain more knowledge and practice.

Placement Experience:

Students typically become eligible from 3rd year/6th semester onwards for most companies. Some internships and tech roles may be available to 2nd-year students depending on the company criteria. Placement Percentage: Usually, 70–85% of eligible students get placed, depending on the stream. Highest placement rates are often in Computer Science, Economics, and Commerce streams. My plan is to become a software engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum is highly relevant. It covers fundamental and advanced concepts of zoology , which was the main reason I choose this course. Subjects like human physiology, biochemistry, biomolecules, comparative anatomy of vertebrates, animal behaviour, ...etc. are highly interested and align with my interest. Practical components help in developing and understanding concepts more clearly. However, real world applications is limited. Curriculum prepare students well for further academics for PG or other competitive exams. Exam system is conducted at regular intervals with Internal assessment and semester end. Timings are appropriate . Difficulty level is moderate to high.

Hindu College, Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Mathematics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

For B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics at Hindu College, the curriculum follows the latest DU UGCF?2022 structure, so it covers both strong theory and some modern applications. The main reason to choose this course is the depth in core areas like Calculus, Algebra, Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Probability, which builds a very solid base for higher studies like M.Sc, data science or research. There are six semesters with continuous internal assessment plus end?semester exams, so students study regularly instead of only before finals. Exams are usually moderate to difficult because questions are concept?based, but the pattern is fair and gives weightage to assignments, tutorials and attendance. Overall, the course is quite comprehensive and relevant for careers in teaching, analytics, government exams and higher academics, though adding more practical projects, programming and real?life modelling could make it even more industry?oriented
