Remarks

It is second best engineering college under wbjee. Besides this it is a government college and best college under makaut University. Good faculty members,good placement statistics, student friendly environment that I heard from a known senior before took admission in kalyani government engineering college made me choose this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course guidelines follow makaut University syllabus. The department of mechanical engineering in kalyani government engineering college is one of the best department in our college, students participate inter college events that is very good and achieve prizes. Average placement package in mechanical engineering is 4 lpa but many of students go to iits,nits, foreign universities for their higher studies.

The main recruiter is TCS Infosys,CTS, Hindustan Unilver,Go Speedy Go, Haldia Petro chemicals, Dynamic Digital Technology,Kreeti technology Ernst and Young and some other companies also visit for campus placement. CSE and it department students have 100% placement statistics.core branch like mechanical and electrical students mainly go for higher studies. This college is growing and placement percentage is increasing year by year Students hired by well known company like Google, Amazon, Microsoft and top mncs in off campus placement.

The campus life is so amazing Kgec. It is beside kalyani University Our techno- cultural fest is one of the biggest event in West Bengal named espektro. We have different clubs like music club,dance club, literature club, coding club, mathematics club, robotics club, automobile club,quiz club,sport club for student.

Fees and Financial Aid

College gives full scholarship to TFW students. Besides that students get swami Vivekananda scholarship given by West Bengal government and simmens scholarship and some other scholarships

Besides study, kgec is good place to grow student's extra curriculum activities. We have sports club named sportix All hostels are wifi equipped Central Library is big with good number of books The all laboratories are big with modern facilities and a.c. accomodation

Kalyani government engineering college takes admission from West Bengal joint entrance examination (wbjee). I cleared wbjee exam with score 78.5 and rank 2852 in 2019

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

I gave West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination in 2024. I scored a decent rank but due to high cut off of this year I didn't get good branch in Jadavpur University.
