Remarks

JGEC is the only good government college near my place. I am in Computer Science department . This college has all facilities from hostel to labs. Teachers and seniors both are really helpful . Although the location is in off place you will get everything you need .

Course Curriculum Overview

Since I am in CSE, most desired branch in every engineering college. So the course is exactly how it has to be and being "autonomous college" we get more new things to learn . All of my teachers are awesome.

Course Fees: INR 24000 per year

Placement Experience

Placements stats have changed in past few years. There are many good companies coming to our college and offering good packages . Our average is 3.5l/yr . Everything is on students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are minimal as it is government aided institute and being general i don't really enjoy the perks of scholarships. But yes there is several scholarships to uplift the required students.

Campus Life

I am more of introvert so i don't mingle around much .But i have my friends who really enjoy everything at college. We have many events like Sristi,Jeclet etcat college which helps students to showcase their talents.

Hostel Facilities

We get lunch and dinner.We have tables for each year and all massis are caring.They are alarm for every girl hear.We hear them early morning regularly. Chicken ,fish are provided thrice in a week . And sweets for vegetarians . Purified water and washrooms are cleaned on daily basis. Four in one rooms and cleaning is on you.

Hostel Fee: INR 24000 per year

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements and there are plenty of companies that come like in my branch there 35-40 companies (core) came and no of offers were 30.Placement percentage was around 95%.Median package was around 7.5lpa and highest was 15lpa.Well my plans are not decided yet, currently in my 2nd year.

from 6th semester the student become eligible for campus placement.Companies like google ,microsoft , apple etc visit the campus.the highest package offered around would be 50 lakhs and lowest would be 5 lakh.around 70 percent of the student get placed.i want to get placed and do the job then slowly i want to start my editing agency.

The placement of the college is not that much which I expected but not also very bad the highest package of the college is around 51 lack and the average package is like 11-12 lack and the median of the college is 10 lack pretty much good and placement percent is around 88 percent of students placed every year

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

According to my West Bengal joint entrance examination rank I said for the counselling in the first round I got Kalyani Government Engineering College with IT department but that was with the reservation under EWS quota with rank 2869. As I was not able to get me EWS certificate my admission there was cancelled and then according to my preference I got Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College with electronic and communication engineering department.
