Remarks

I chose this college as it's faculty is said to be good for my subject, which is Sociology. Moreover, it is in close proximity to my house so the travel time is reduced. The college has a friendly environment with extremely encouraging teachers and seniors.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is meaningful but some of the readings are outdated and seem irrelevant. In the first year, we were taught about the major approaches in Sociology, key terms and concepts, and also a lot about Indian Sociology and it's growth. The faculty is good and helpful.

The placement cell of the college brings many reputed organizations to the college that recruit students by taking an interview and considering their CV. Since I just finished the 1st year, I can't say much about this.

College Events

The campus life is exciting. You can almost always find students practicing for their respective societies like fashion society, dance society,music society etc. Department fests, Diwali fests and college fests etc have the students all enthusiastic and excited. All colleges go to other colleges as well to participate in their competitions and events.

Campus Life

The infrastructure is not great. There is always a crunch of chairs and tables in the classrooms with children carrying the same from other classes. There are projectors and projection screens in almost all classrooms that aid the teaching- learning process. The Library is big and has got 2 floors apart from the ground floor. The college wifi works well in almost most parts of the college.

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Honest review of Pros and Cons of DCAC

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral).My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.

It is one of the best college of Delhi university among 10 colleges of the university for my course that is Geography honours. All the faculty members are of good nature and experienced in their subjects
