Remarks

As Kamala Nehru College is one of the renowned college of Delhi University i joined it. And i chose Delhi University as everybody knows how this impacts a personality. I opted for Economics Hons. as i love economics. In 12th i scored 99 so i thought i would do good in this subject.

Course Curriculum Overview

Economics is for intelligent or hardworking people. It requires a lot of practice as it contains a lot of numerical concepts and questions. Syllabus is vast but contains practical scenario. It's not just theory. Faculty is good.

Class Size: 44Course Fees: INR 8250 per year

Internships Opportunities

We get an internship via placement cell. I worked in Gobarefoot, it's stipend was 8000 (maximum of this year).

Placement Experience

Placements are good. This year approx 25 companies visited our college. Placement process takes place via Placement cell. Around 30 students placed this year. There are placememt opportunities for every course. Generally it's sales and marketing,HR, Operations, Financial Analyst. Entrepreneur Cell of my college is also good.

College Events

It is very nice. Those who can work hard there are lot of opportunities for them. There are lot of societies to be a part of. You can enhance your personality as well as CV by becoming a part of society/ societies.

Campus Life

There is Wifi but it is not that good, students are not accesed to good network. Size of library is not very big not very small so it is fine, since i don't have labs subject i don't know about labs. Sports facilities are there and it seems good.

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Great college with good faculty and student crowd

Placement Experience:

Placements is for 3rd year students. Many good companies visit our campus like bajaj capital, oberoi group. Highest package is around 22 lakhs. We have a lot of internship and placement opportunities come in for students.

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. Honest review of Pros and Cons of DCAC

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral).My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
