Remarks

The college has a great infrastructure with a talanted teaching staff. It is the only college under University of Delhi that provides vocational courses as well. The near by locality is very good having good connectivity for commuting.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The college follow the curriculum as set by the University. The current curriculum for B.Com is very extensive and covers various areas of commerce like economics, marketing, accounting, law, finance etc. The exams are conducted twice a year (each semester). There are four subjects in each semester having a weightage of 100 marks each which is divided into (75 for written exam and 25 for internals). A student has to score atleat 40% in each subject to pass that.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college has a separate placement cell dedicated to the students for helping them in providing internships and placements. The coordinators in the placement cell makes full effort and makes sure that companies from different sectors with various profiles comes to the college for hiring the students. To apply for any internship or placement, a student has to fill an application form of the placement cell and provide his/her updated resume. During my tenure in the college, a lot of companies cames for campus placement and also offer a good package for the students to start their career with.

College Events

3.5

The college celebrates all the major festivals in the campus. It has many cultural and other societies which organises many events from time to time. In the start of the session there is a fresher's party organised to welcome the new joinees. Also societies like economics society or finance and entrepreneurship cell organises many educational events and games for the students. There is also an annual fest which is 3-4 day event where a lot of activities takes place like sports, dancing, fashion show, concerts of famous celebrities etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As the college is a part of University of Delhi which is a central university, so the fee are very low. Further there are some other concession also for students having low family income. Being a cental government regulated university, the college can't change high fees from the students above a certain limit. The fee regulation held the students to get good education at an affordable price.

Fees and Financial Aid

As per my knowledge the college does not provide any scholarships or loan facility to the students. Although it does rewards the top three students in each course with some cash prices. But there are some central level and state level scholarships being provided by government and other educational institutions which a student can apply for if he/she is eligible.

Campus Life

4

There are a lot of socities which a student can be a part of based on his/her interest. The socities organises many events for the members and also provide a great opportunity to learn and develop the inner talent. The college has its own teams for different sports like football team, cricket team.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

It is a bit negative point that the college does not have any hostel facility in its campus. Although a lot of college in the university of Delhi does not have hostel facility. But the location of the college is very good and students who are from outside of Delhi usually take accommodation in nearby societies only. There a lot of paying guests and private hostel facility available near the college with a affordable price.

Alumni/Alumna

The college does not have any proper alumni network program. But the senior students are really helpful. They could provide you the notes or suggest you the books you should read for your course. Also the seniors students could helps you with your career by guiding the right subjects you should opt for.

Admission

As a part of University of Delhi, CVS also follows the same University rules. The college release cut-off merit list for students (the cut-off being dropped down in the successive list based on the number of seats left for that particular course). The college consider marks of top four subjects, with one language subject mandatory, for calculating the percentage scored by a student. If a student falls in the cut-off list he is eligible for admission in the selected course. After submitting the required documents like 10th marks sheet, 12th marks sheet, ID proof etc, he would get admitted to the college.

Faculty

4

The college has a great staff of talented teachers having diverse backgrounds. Most of the teachers have a long and wonderful teaching experience. Also many of the teacher from each departments have published course books which are being taught to the students in the university. Apart from teaching the staff is very supportive and helpful towards the students. They are easily approachable in case a student needs any help with the subject or otherwise.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the daulat ram course 8/10. One of the main reasons i chose this course was that the syllabus felt balanced between theory and practical understanding..but the only drawback is that sometimes it felt a bit more theory based rather than practical exposure , the exam pattern is consistent mid-sem internals and end-sem finals twice a year. Internals are usually manageable, but end-semester exams depend a lot on the teacher marking style.

Course curriculum is as per Delhi University's official curriculum, so it's pretty good. But its very theoretical as well so if I would suggest an improvement it would be this to make the curriculum more real and practical life based rather than rote learning.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.
