Should I go for B.Tech Civil Engineering in DTU or B.Tech Mathematics and Computing in NIT Warangal?

Both DTU for B.Tech Civil Engineering and NIT Warangal for B.Tech Mathematics and Computing have their merits, but when it comes to fees and return on investment, NIT Warangal stands out. DTU’s fee structure starts at 2,19,000 INR and increases every year, with decent placement stats but capped at around 90,000 INR per month for civil engineering. In contrast, NIT Warangal has a higher overall placement average, with top packages reaching 1.2 crore from tech companies, and a more robust internship offering with stipends up to 200k. Given the higher potential earnings and the solid education in a rapidly growing field, I’d lean towards Mathematics and Computing at NIT Warangal for better financial returns and growth opportunities.

If I were in your position, I would choose DTU. The reason? I prefer the branch.

Now, it's entirely up to you. If you're comfortable with Civil Engineering, go for it! But if you want to prioritize the branch, then DTU MCE is the way to go.

And let me tell you, DTU MCE is excellent, both in terms of placements and academics.

Both DTU for B.Tech Civil Engineering and NIT Warangal for B.Tech Mathematics and Computing have strong prospects, but they cater to different career paths. DTU's civil engineering program offers solid internship opportunities with companies like L&T and Amazon, and the placement statistics are decent, with good packages ranging from 35,000 to 90,000 Rs per month. On the other hand, NIT Warangal's Mathematics and Computing program boasts higher placement rates, with over 120 companies visiting and top offers reaching up to 1.2 crore, especially for tech roles.

If you're keen on construction and government jobs, DTU might be your pick. However, if you are inclined towards tech and lucrative packages, NIT Warangal is the better option.

In my opinion, considering the current job market, anything related to computing is better than anything else.

That said, IIT is IIT. If you can upgrade your branch or focus on learning coding through online resources, and if you prove to be a talented coder along the way, civil engineering won't hold you back at all. You'll likely find yourself in IT anyway, and that IIT tag will elevate you in ways you can't even imagine.

However, that's all hypothetical and speculative. No one knows if you'll actually work that hard or stay focused throughout your undergrad. Most students don’t. Right now, unless you provide evidence to the contrary, there's no reason to think you're any different from others pursuing B.Tech in various CFTIs, including the IITs.

And DTU is a top engineering school.

In my view, CSE in DTU is worth giving up civil in IITG.

But ultimately, it's your decision. If it were me, I'd choose Civil in IITG. I love envisioning buildings and structures. I'm naturally inclined towards the architectural side and not great with computers.

NIT Warangal will provide you with a better academic experience, and if you are genuinely interested in Civil Engineering, it's one of the top places in India.

However, if your focus is on placements or pursuing an MBA (which is perfectly fine), you can choose any top college, and the rest will depend on your efforts!
