The memorable college

Campus Life

The annual fest in our college is Jinks Pranav. There is no such technical fest. The library is open from 9 to 6 in normal days and Sunday remains closed. The students can access the books can time they want. The sports activities is celebrated once a year called Sadbhawna. There are many ongoing clubs in our collegem

My College Experience

Campus Life

The college main fest is conducted in month of Jan- March - JINKS PRANAV And the technical festival may include Internal Hackathon- conducted along with SIH - Smart India Hackathon at the month of August - October The Library provides the issue of the book we want for approx 15 days and then again issuing the book. We can go there are ready the books as per we require. The classroom is big enough and there is projector for smart class technology. Sadbhawna is the sports event that takes place every year in month of December. And other sports activities is celebrated in National sports day. Their are also clubs for football, volleyball, cricket. And other activities go along the ministry of education week celebration event on occasion of anti -ragging week and so on. Their are many clubs in our college for dance, singing, technology, automobiles, sports etc. Their is an running NGO in our college which impacts the students life very deeply. It helps students increase soft skills.

Faculty

There are approx 50-60 faculty in our college. The faculties are quite helpful. We can approach them anytime between 9-5 unless and until they don't have any other class going on. Overall, all faculties help us whenever we need and do their best to help us. There are currently 2 mid sem per semester, but soon going to be 1 mid sem per semester. In 2 mid sem the best marks is to taken for 20 marks out of 100. 10 marks is for assignment, attendance, projects. And 70 marks for the end semester. In practical exams 50 marks is total and the marks distribution is according to teachers convience.

The Faculty members are awesome. We have number of faculties for the same subject. Different faculties teach different units. There is a healthy and friendly relationship between the students and faculty members. Dr. Hansraj Tiwari is one Professor who I like the most and it is because of the way he lectures the class. When you are in his class, you feel like you are attending a lecture at Stanford.

You might have heard that the campus life at MNNIT Allahabad is bad, but it's just a hoax. The first event that you will witness coming into the college will be your freshers party known as Swagat. Then we have Culrav which is another fest in which you can show your talent. There are many committee such as Drama, Music, Art, Dance, Anchoring, Modeling and Many more

Fee Structure: The institute fee for B.Tech. courses is around 78k to 80k per year which include tuition fee, examination fee, medical charges, and others. Hostel and mess charges for each year is around 65500 which is quite decent. There is no any fee wavier system like IITs and NITs but ROI is very good. Scholorships and financial assistance: For home state students there is home state scholorships which gives upto 85k per year while for other students national scholorship program are beneficial. Som private scholorships are also in our college like buddy4study scholorships and other. Apart from this, the college has a campus bank of Canara Bank which gives educational loans to students very easily.

Campus Life

Overall, the college is quite impressive in terms of placement and infrastructure. The main thing about the college is that it provides all the facilities at very reasonable prices. Overall, it is a good place for learning and having splendid memories.There is an NGO run by college students named 'KARTAVYA', which provides the free education for thousands of poor children. If we talk about cons, the college is located in Hatia, a small town in Ranchi, so it does not provide good connectivity for transport. The other thing is that NIAMT doesn't have any impressive clubs or societies, so it lags in terms of exposure and crowds. In this college, there is no any technical and coding culture.

getting into companies is easy and it's not difficult. Only few people are get into quant but if you prepare hard enough you can get into those companies. The Campus is wonderful, with plenty of greenery and a great peer group. There are numerous clubs focusing on extracurricular activities such as (PFC) for photography and cinematography the Physics and Astronomy Club (PAC), V-Defyn for Dance, and many others catering to various interests. These clubs are instrumental in honing your skills. The campus hosts 3-4 fests annually including the major cultural fest Rendezvous, Tryst for technical enthusiasts, MCom, and BCom for business and startups along with several other events organized by individual clubs. The central library offers a vast collection of books there are numerous sports available including swimming, hockey, badminton, and athletics most clubs and websites like BSW, are student-run.The hostels are very maintained. The mess food is quite good . Hostels are assigned around 20 days prior to classes begin.

Internships Opportunities

Many Internship opportunities are provided by the college itself there's a club for this namely OCS (Office of Career Choices). Companies offering different job profiles in quant trading, Consultancy, research, Teaching, core, etc. offer a decent stipend. Generally, consult and quant. companies offer a high stipend and core and teaching one receives low offers. If you want to get an Internship then you must do some good projects to show in ur CV and the main thing maintain a decent CGPA(at least above 7). The gen-obc students with annual family income between 1-5 lakhs have to pay one-third of the tution fees. This makes the total cost to be around 8.5 lakh(in case of no remission).

Course Curriculum Overview

The curricum has courses very relevant to the present day industry needs. There are 3 annual fest that occur in NIT JAMSHEDPUR . URJA (sports fest ) OJASS (Annual technical fest ) CULFEST (annual cultural fest) . Nit jamshedpur has many clubs . There are clubs for sports(almost all sports club and many times inter NIT is also held in our campus) , cultural , technical , NSS ,coding , etc All clubs have president or captian with many other POR's also and a professor in charge of the club . Students bond with their seniors through clubs and learn many things along with it .

Faculty

All faculties are highly qualified . And faculty to student ratio is also good bcoz it's not some private college where 7k + students are there in cs and in big classrooms only one faculty teaches to a high number of students. These things are very well managed as it's a national institute. Some professors are very good some doesn't bother at all and some will not give you marks .

The facility to student ration is good in dtu there is separate teacher for theroy instructor for lab and in lab there is other lab instructor so the student to teacher ratio is overall i say good. Faculty are highly qualified they have done phd from iit's but some of there or i can say most of them are failed to explain the concept because in class there is a pace of teaching which teacher acquired to teach the students and students are unable to proccess things in short time of period in class.

The faculty to student ratio is ok for few branches and pathetic for others, In an ideal scenario, each faculty must have 20 students to mentor but here it can lead upto 1-30 to 1-120. The professors are basic and have no outside knowledge other than the books they have (in some cases the books the have is the books they had* because now the book is gone and only pages of it are there). The faculty credentials and their teaching skills are questionalbel. And about having a word with a professors is quite easy as long as it is in their favor. Overall some professors are good and actuall intrested in teaching students but due to politics by other professors, they dont do anything that can actullay help students become professional.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is great and subjects that a college is allowed to teach is amaizng. The curriculum of Production and Industrial Engineering is by far the most advanced and in terms with the manufacturing industry requirement. The real world application of it can be taken into account. The projects included in the course are also kind of cool The exams are by far the most useless things becasue there is no effort from the faculty to make good questions, same old questions repeating over the years. The evaluation is based on how well connected you are with the teacher for boys and if you are a girl then you hit the jackpot as you will be given a full grade no matter how bad you are in terms of academics.

There were many clubs inside the campus, all led by students only. Clubs like Enactus or Economics club were there. We also had great festivals such as Rendezvous and Tryst. They were one of the largest Cultural and Technical festivals in India.

My friend is currently in the 4th year of production engineering, NIT Trichy and according to him, it doesn’t really have a good prospect. Here’s why: While other departments have 6 subjects per semester you’ll be having 7. This can get quite hectic for you at times. Despite so much hard work, placements are not good at all. You will never be treated equally to your mechanical friends, however good your profile is. Although you can go into most of the mechanical engineering fields like automobiles, industrial tools making, etc. you will be paid lesser than your mechanical engineer mates. However, if you are planning for higher studies and research, then production is a very good choice. Ans. You must know what you are getting yourself into. The mechanical engineering department of NITC offers 2 BTech courses that are Mechanical and Production. Both of these departments share faculties, labs, some courses, and other facilities. But at the end of the day, both are different courses. There are two types of people seen in Production Engineering at NITC: Students who wanted to study mechanical, but didn’t have the rank for it or could only get mechanical at other NITs. Production is after all similar to mechanical. Students who didn’t have an appropriate rank to choose a branch/college of their choice, but still wanted to study in an NIT. There are few things that students commonly felt during their days: Students are often seen saying that they should get mechanical equivalent certificates. There is no purpose in saying this as they are two different branches. Students also complain that teachers are biased. Few teachers refrain from teaching students from production batches. Mechanical batches are taught mostly by permanent faculty while production batches get guest faculties. There are very few placement opportunities for Production batches in comparison with Mechanical. Core companies are even fewer. The students of Production are often isolated from other batches of students. They are allotted spare rooms. Ans. Both the institutes are government institutes and provide best in class education when it comes to Fire and safety engineering. They offer good placement opportunities in government and private organizations with good packages. However, NFSC Nagpur might be the choice to go due to the following reasons. CUSAT: Let’s discuss CUSAT first.  The institute offers both fire and safety which includes more topics related to engineering courses which are very useful from a placements perspective.  CUSAT is both AICTE and NBA accredited so has a good curriculum. One of the downsides is that in CUSAT fire drills do not take place regularly which is required by some companies during the placement process. Even though it is a very famous college in South India and has a good placement record, the infrastructure is a bit old compared to NFSC Nagpur. The competition here for the Fire and Safety course is more and you need to have a good rank in the CUSATCAT. NFSC Nagpur: NFSC Nagpur has a course curriculum that is in line with the world’s top institutes with more focus given to physical standards and course syllabus. The institute focuses more on the fire drill process and physical fitness along with the academic part. It is a central government institute and provides the best placements for its students. The institute's alumni hold top positions in top fire organizations in India. The value of fire engineering here matches the IIT tag when it comes to fire engineering. It is very much necessary to have proper time management to align yourself with daily routines. All the hard work you put in will be reaped as many top companies including PSU’s come for recruitment here. BE in Fire course is a newly added one in this institute and competition is a bit less. The first few batches have passed with flying colors and have good placement records with the average package being around 10 LPA. Considering all the facts above it is safe to say that NFSC Nagpur is the best option of the two.
