City College... from the perspective of a simple student.

Faculty:

The faculty is quite helpful and efficient. The help is given in not much time. The teachers are extremely competent and knowledgeable about their subjects. The exams are held every semester i.e. 6 months.

A college with all the facilities.

A single teacher takes class of almost hundred students. Faculties are approachable very much. The try to help the students in bost possible way. SL sir, our HOD is one of the best teachers of accountacy,he gives in depth knowledge of every concept. MRM Sir of Taxation, PG mam of Law. As far I have not noticed any faculty to be non approachable or rude. They are are quite good in there subject. We appear in 6 semester in total that completes the entire course of B COM honours. 2 to 3 percentage of students fail hardly and it is quite evident because they must have shown inconsistency and irregularity in terms of studies and attending classes. The relevance of completing this course lies in different types of opportunities like going for higher studies like M com, CA, MBA and also directly get into a job in a firm.

Well for study

There are 15 faculty approx at that time for the mentioned course and there are not as such favour faculty and no such faculty whom I don't like. Every faculty puts good effort to reach us everything.

City College Physics Department

Likes

The teachers are very friendly and they will teach you very nicely to clear your concepts
The laboratory facilities are the main attraction. Respected teachers will teach you very nicely and your concepts will be clear. Also they arranges extra practice class before the practical examination going to held.

You've to study well for university exams. A person can easily get supply in the exams. A internal test happens before every university semester exams. Class load is not that much in City College but you have to study as much as possible to get good sgpa in University of Calcutta. There is one internal of 10 marks and 10 marks for attendance, 50 marks theory exam for BSC (Physics Hons) and 30 marks of practical exam. The theory exam of 50 marks and practical exam of 30 marks is away centre. Only the internals happens on college campus.

The teachers are very friendly. They taught there with very care

Dislikes

Some teachers behaviour is also not good

City college is under Calcutta university amd trust me its not easy to clear Calcutta university exams. They are very hard. Faculties are easily approachable. You will get support . There are 2 semisters in each year. For each you will get 6months to prepare.

Satisfied with my City College

The teaching process was very good and was very easy to understand.
The faculties were very good and helpful.

The faculties were highly qualified and knowledgeable. Their teachings process was very easy to understand and we use to get clarity of our every doubts. There was 6 semester exam along with the internal exam. The internal are generally easy but the semester exams was very tough

City College - The college of dreams

Teachers are really helpful and hosts mentor-mentee meeting once a month. In my department (zoology) all the faculty are very helpful specially our HOD ( Dr. Debasish Karmakar) Some newly hired faculty lacks confidence and are not well awared on teaching students.( Dr. Pramita Roy) 2 exams are held each semester and they are quite difficult to pass. In semester 1 around 14 students from our batch failed to clear the exam. The course is very relevant for future opportunities.

Kolkata Heritage:City College

The classes are not very regular so are the faculty members which is very common in Government colleges nowadays.The faculties teach well though,The Head of the department of Commerce is a very smart and good teacher.The exams are taken before CU external exams.The question papers are quite standard but the marks are given on an average basis.The students who does Student's Union gets unfair advantages sometimes.

City college- A phase in my life

The faculties and the teachers also the non-teaching staffs are very helpful

The college provides a well-sized faculty of 10-12 professors and lecturers to teach around 300-350 students is quite a good ratio. the faculty provides the students with proper notes and suggestions regarding the syllabus and the students are more often seen to be approaching them for certain doubts and problems.

College

There were 8 or 9 faculties in our Accountancy Honours course. They were highly educated and their process of teaching was amazing. If someone couldn't understand anything of course then they taught that subject again. Every of them was very good and waited to do class of them.
