Bethune College Kolkata Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Some of the courses are not really relevant is what I've felt. Like the psychology course is not really psychology I feel because they have included management and stuff in that. Though I think it's relevant in today's world but...yeah.

I took up this course because I always wanted to get into the field of writing and pursue my favorite subject from such an esteemed university has indeed helped me. There are around 6 faculty members and each one of them is amazing and highly knowledgeable. Most of them have a Ph.D. in English. The professors teach and treat you like their own children and help you on a personal level as well. We had 6 semesters in 3 years. If you study properly in your course duration, you will excel in the subject since the faculty teach you from the ground level.

Students become eligible for campus placement during their third year of academics. Companies like TCS, HDFC BANK, Haldia Petrochemicals, WB Electrical Department visit our college and recruit students at the time of campus placements. The highest package offered is 9.7 lakhs per annum and the lowest package offered is 3.3 lakhs per annum. Around 70% of the total final year students get placed during the campus placements.

Bethune college is the first women's college in Asia. As it's a renowned college and one of the oldest college in kolkata, infrastructure is no doubt very good. Equipments in laboratories and books in libraries are enough as needed on the basis of syllabus. Science and arts libraries are separate, wifi is available. Sports centre opens only for few days before annual sports. Rest of the year it remains closed. The food available in the canteen are of reasonable price and hygienic.

1. Bethune college is primarily a government college, so the overall cost of the undergraduate program is much cheaper. 2. Also, the English department is considered as the heritage department of this college. Definitely the reputation is one of the reason as well.

Bethune is one of the best colleges in West Bengal. The teaching is immaculate. It really gives you a sense of freedom and power, while helping you grow in your own way. I have to put in a word for my department. I do not believe that the professors in the English department could be replaced by anyone else.

Very good faculties and perfect environment to gain knowledge and experience.The best thing about the college is the discipline it maintains in every aspect. The college has a very well infrastructure. The library facilities are also good. Almost all the required books are available for reference and exam purposes.
