What is the eligibility to obtain sponsorship from a company?

The student must have passed 10+2 (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths) with more than 60% aggregate. Students also need to have a good IMU CET rank and have to clear the written test and interview by the company.

Does the institute offer a preparatory course for the IMU CET exam?

Yes, both regular and crash courses are offered for the students to help them prepare for the IMU CET exam. The regular course is for 2 months for a fee of Rs. 50,000 and the crash course is for one month for a fee of Rs. 30,000.

When do the courses commence at IMI Greater Noida?

B. Tech course begins in August, Diploma in Nautical Science commences in February and August and GME course begins in April and October. Value-added courses are available more frequently and can be booked online.

Course Description

In order to apply for IMI, candidates need to follow a stepwise procedure mentioned below:

Candidates must visit the online official website and click on the ‘Apply Now’ tab.
Now, fill all the required details and click on the submit button.
Candidates also need to pay an application fee of the required amount.

NOTE:

For DNS and B.Tech. Lateral Entry, the application fee is INR 2000/-.
In case of DNS, application fee can be paid through cash or demand draft favoring ‘IMI’ payable at Greater Noida.
For B.Tech. (Lateral Entry) admissions, candidates are required to apply online at www.imi.edu.in and pay the registration fees through Online Payment Gateway provided at IMI Website or NEFT.

International Maritime Institute B.Tech. And B.Tech Lateral Entry Eligibility

Eligibility for B.Tech.:

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with PCM as compulsory subjects and obtained a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks in English.
Candidates should have fluency in written and spoken English.
Candidates must not be aged more than 25 years on the date of commencement of training.
Candidates must have an eyesight of 6/6 (with or without external aids) and no colour blindness.
Candidates must have passed the medical examination and mandatory tests prior to joining IMI.
Candidates must have qualified the IMU-CET examination.

Eligibility for B.Tech. Lateral Entry:

Candidates should have passed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ Marine Engineering from any Government Approved institution with at least 60% marks in aggregate and completed the Diploma within the stipulated period of 3 years.
Candidates must have passed the 10th and 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks in English or in awarded Diploma.
Candidates should be aged between 18 - 25 years as on August 1.

International Maritime Institute B.Tech. And B.Tech Lateral Entry Selection Criteria

For B.Tech. admissions, candidates are alloted seats based on the merit in the IMU-CET examination.
Post qualifying this exam, candidates are called for the counselling round.
During this counselling seats will be allotted based on merit secured and candidate’s preference.

Selection Criteria for B.Tech. Lateral Entry

Candidates are selected for admissions to B.Tech (Lateral Entry) based on the performance in Pre Screening Test (PST) and Interview conducted by the Institute.
Selected candidates then undergo a medical examination by the Directorate General of Shipping approved doctors.
Candidates need to pay a medical examination fee directly to the doctor.
Candidates also need to submit the report to the institute at the time of admission.
Thus, the final selection is subject to payment of total fees, submission of original documents for verification and submission of Medical Fitness report by DG Shipping Approved Doctor.

The fees iss quite high. They make the process of lone easy for you. If you have a good rank in IMUCET with a decent boards percentage it is not difficult to get a lone and the annual fees is somewhat around 3.5 to 4 lakhs excluding hostel fees

Fees and Financial Aid:

Fees hike is about 1 lakh per annum. The cost to study by btech is about 19 lakhs. Here scholarship is not provided but if you are good enough you get a sponsorship from a company which would make your placement secure even before the commencement of the course.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee for Marine Engineering is very high. Not only in this college but in every college the fee for marine engineering is high. It is around 15 lakhs including hostel charges. Most of the students take a loan from banks and institute helps in that too. They assist us on how to take loan. Since the placement is very good, therefore, almost 85% students get placed in the campus placement. The companies coming are maersk, msc, fleet, etc. They never talked about scholarship to me. Maybe they are providing it for other courses like Diploma or BSc in Nautical Science.
