The Institute offers Courses in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science and Electrical Technology. The key Details of all the Courses have been tabulated below:

Course	Details
GME (Graduate Marine Engineer)	Duration: 8 months on shore followed by 10 months on board training. Specialization:Marine Engineering Eligibility: Age should be less than 25 Years.Passed in 12th class or PCM with 60% and above marks. OR B.Sc. in PCM with 55% and above marks or Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the Year. OR Electronics with physics= 55% and above. OR BE/ B.Tech. with 50% and above marks.
DNS (Diploma in Nautical Science)	Duration: 12 months Pre-sea training course followed by 18 months Structured Shipboard Training as TNOC under IMU. Specialization:Nautical Science Eligibility: Age should be less than 28 Years. BE (Mechanical/ Naval Architecting) with 50% and above and Minimum 50% marks in English. OR Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Automotive Engineering with 50% and above in final year and Minimum 50% marks in English.
ETO (Electro Technical Officer)	Duration: 4 months on shore followed by 8 months on board training. Specialization:Electrical Technology Eligibility: Age should be less than 28 Years.12th class with PCM with 50% and above with minimum 50% marks in English. OR 3 Years Diploma with 60% marks OR 4 Years Degree inElectrical/Electronics/Electrical and electronics/ Electrical and Telecommunication/Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering with 50% marks.

NOTE: Medical Standards:Physical standards and eyesight as per the DG guidelines.

Anglo eastern is a shipping management company having more than 600 ships & it is headquartered at Hongkong. They have set up their own institute to train the deck and engine cadets and they recruit them on their own ships and you are assured with a job unlike the other institutes where you have to depend upon the placements.you will be sponsored by the company.

Ques. What does a sponsorship letter from the Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies mean?

Ans. It means that you will be paid a stipend during your training on board on successful completion of the course and once you have cleared your class 4 exams your 'll start sailing as 4th engineer. Your salary as 4th engineer will also be mentioned in the sponsorship letter.It means after the completion of offshore training, even if you don't get selected in any shipping company, you will be given to sail in great eastern vessels. So, if you have a sponsorship letter then you won't be unemployed after the completion of course.

My views about my Institute

Likes

I mostly liked the infrastructure and the food.
The environment was also good they kept it very clean.

Dislikes

The campus rules and regulations are very strict
There was no wifi available in the campus

Admission:

Eligibility was pcm 70% above and English 70% above is 12 std. For application forms keep checking the websites of the companies and then fill their forms accordingly and then give entrance exam and interview as scheduled and pass in that.

Admission:

Admission process, Written, interview, medical, final merit list, I found the application form online on the Ge institute website. the application fee is 700rs and the application form is available for the whole year. everything is fine no improvement is needed.

Admission:

This college is good for DNS leading to BSc Nautical Science with skilled teachers. This College is one of the top colleges in South Mumbai which has ample space for all the activities it has also acquired its autonomous degree which make this college better management of my college is on point and it's a dream college to be a part. Admission of this college is in very systematic way dates of admission is listed on college own website named as Geims.in. It's convenient to go to the college bec it is surrounded by all means of road transport nearby.
