Everything you need to know before taking admission in Lady Brabourne College

Likes

Very well disciplined campus. One can have the college experience without letting themselves loose (within the campus).
Professors are strict but approachable. Their teachings are an experience by itself.
THE FOOD COURT!!!!!!! ?

Dislikes

The college hostel timings could be a little more liberating.
The Nescafe canteen (we have 4 canteens) charged me for an extra spoon.
Unnecessary cold calling for non mandatory diploma courses.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is based on early to modern literature. Consists of a lot of romantic poets and demands a sense of literature from you. Since this is a non technical course, it's very obvious to go for further studies if one wants to secure a job. The frequency of the exams are absolutely beautiful. We have ample amount of time to deal with the syllabus and score well.

Lady Brabourne College in a nutshell

Likes

I love our college campus. The campus is well maintained and no ragging is reported till date.
Our college is an all girl’s college so it’s a really safe space for girls.
Our college holds a lot of informative seminars.

Dislikes

Washrooms need to be properly maintained.
The classes are sometimes not properly organised often having two to three hour gaps in between two classes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course which is curated by Calcutta University even though helps us to gain knowledge about the subject but barely helps us to be ready for the work life ahead. So it's good for people who want to remain in the academic field only.

Life at LBC

Likes

Faculty is great here at LBC. They are highly qualified and knowledgeble.
Campus ground is something that holds a special place for the brabournites
Both the canteens here are well stocked and has a warm vibe

Dislikes

Some of the classrooms are not well maintained in the RC building

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Political Science because I have a personal inclination towards the subject and getting to study my dream subject from one of the top colleges was a blessing indeed. There's a quite moderate faculty: student ratio ( 30:1). All the professors are PhD holders from reputed universities from all around India and have more than 10+ years in teaching. We have our semester exam twice a year and if you study consistently all throughout the year you won't find it difficult to hold a good SGPA.

LBC- a college tour

Placement Experience:

Usually 6 semester students get placed also very few. Almost 2-3 companies' visit packages are usually not up to the mark. The package is usually around 4 lac I would pursue post-graduation. Career counseling and orientations are done most of them go abroad for post-graduation.

Yes, rather laboratory equipments are very satisfying to work with. Well maintained hygiene. Central AC libraries, few classrooms and laboratories. Well maintained and sanitized laboratories. Yes living places are clean.

The institution is renowned in our city. The faculty is also very good, i came to know about the fact from some ex students before coming to the institution. The faculties are also very caring. Numerous seminars are also arranged during the academic sessions. The students get homely feeling in this institution.

Remarks:

The institute assures discipline and it is absolutely free from politics and it is one of the top girls college of kolkata. It also assures good infrastructure, big library and a large auditorium, two canteens and a big playground. This college also made facilities for career counselling and psychological counselling which attracted me the most.

I had chosen it because it is a female college. The fest was held once a year and so was the sports fest. Debates and quiz were a regular phenomenon.The college organises sports events and fest once a year.

Remarks:

College management needs to improve a lot. People dealing with the official work really need to work and have an interaction with the respective department regarding various important topics, like class timings, result notices, admission notice etc.
