The hostels at Lady Brabourne College, (LBC) Kolkata are very basic and usual. The building is very old with corridors having fewer lights making it difficult to walk around.

  • The Hostel fees are very less. About INR 1500-2000 per month including food and lodging.
  • The whole campus is wifi enabled, which at times gets a bit slower than usual due to heavy traffic.
  • LBC hostels are very secured and students here can stay peacefully without facing any major inconveniences.
  • In the first year you have to stay in a dorm along with 10-15 other students.
  • In the second year you get to share your room with one other student.
  • And finally in the third year, you will probably get a single occupancy room.
  • There are strict rules which are to be followed by the students. The hostel timings should be taken seriously.
  • The food offered here will take some time to get adjusted, but overall it is healthy.
  • If you do not have a required percentage in your exams, you will not be allowed to stay in the hostel from the following year.

Many students opt to stay in the hostel but if you want an alternative you can choose to stay as a paying guest. There are many places nearby. The people here are very cooperative and overall it is a good college, so there will not be many problems.
