We have very large basketball ground i like to play sports alot so i liked it very much
I didn't get any scholarship as of now but there may be prize rewards based on our performance and also scholarships.
Placements at our college are very good and also internship and career guidance are very good for becoming an entrepreneur like starting a start-up or so.

Dislikes

Travelling is a bit difficult, if you want to go for shopping, you need to go to nearest town ponda which is 5km away, and only college bus is avaliable for it at particular times.
doesn't have avaliability of all infrastructure like old IITs.
Hoste accomodation is good but for all four years its two sharing rooms, unlike other IITs wher you can get single room in 3rd or 4th year.

IIT Goa review

Likes

nice placements for computer science engineering branch
some faculty are experts in their respective fields
nice hostel rooms and competitive peer group

Dislikes

Very poor infrastructure. sports facilities are poorly mantained
lack of coding environment, no societies for such activities
lack of cultural events, no cultural fest was held in 2024

Likes

Mainly i liked my friends, girl friend, Hostel atmosphere is verry nice
We have very large basketball ground i like to play sports alot so i liked it very much
We have coding club named gomyno which is my favourite i get to learn a lot from that

Dislikes

My grades arent that good so i dislike that
Our mess was so small we need bigg one as well as classrooms too
Our campus is not permanent so i wish we had permanent campus

From semester 6 students are eligible to take college provided placements which are nothing but campus placements. Companies like amazon, Google, iudx, Microsoft, Intel and many more companies visot our campus 95-97 percentage people get placements this is one of the high rated in placements based on last year it is 99.05 percent. 105 people participated and 104 got

I like the faculty here they are very supportive
Hostel facilities are good.there are no big issues with facilities
I also liked the academics here.The contents in the courses are quite interesting

Dislikes

We don't have a permanent campus.I wish we had one

Placement Experience:

From 7th and 8th semester students become eligible for campus placements.Highest package offered in 2023 was INR 60LPA.Percentage of students getting placements was 99%.My plans after getting the degree is getting into a job.

IIT GOA -An Untold story

Likes

What I liked here is the hostel,less crowd,peacefulness
I also liked the fact that it is a new iit and is doing its best

Dislikes

I ndisliked the campus and facilities offered

Placement Experience:

I think in 7th semester the students become eligible for campus placements.almost all of the students get placed like 97-98 percent.highest package would be like 60lpa and averagr around 15-20 lpa.I plan to get a job and start working after gettion degree

A brief review of IIT goa

Likes

In iit goa as strength is less we are easily moved to clubs and sports easily.
The hostel in iit goa is awesome, all courts are inside our
The seniors in iit goa are friendly and they guide us like our brothers/sisters

Dislikes

We don't have big events like in remaining iits
We don't have our own campus that to we are in goa engineering college
We don't have some sports facilities here like football etc

Course Curriculum Overview:

At IIT Goa, faculty to student ratio is 1:8 such that we are easily exposed to faculty in such a way that it is easy to learn new things. Here most of the professors are young so they can work on our ideas quickly. Here, we don't have a problem with language while talking with professors. Usually, professors are comfortable speaking with us.

Some information about IIT GOA

Likes

Hostels. Very nice clean also in good condition. Here cleaning happens every week
Professors. Highly interactive, highly educated and also a vast source of knowledge

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Btech CSE, it's my first year and till now everything is going good and nice in academics.there is 1:10 faculty student ratio in IITGOA.Teachers are very greatly graduated and it feels like a privilege to study from them. Mid sem exams were a little bit tough.

All about IIT GOA

Likes

Course here is damn good as Iit Bombay was mentor of this college and it has same syllabus as iit Bombay has
Good student:faculty ratio cause of less no of students (11:1) . No other iit having the same
One of the best placements among all 3rd gen iits and some of the 2nd gen iits

Dislikes

Zero campus life since iit goa doesn’t has its own campus
No sports participation as it just has its basketball court . For other sports we have to share with GeC
IIT goa has firewall setup. You will say each iit has but here games are also blocked . For gamers sad life 😭

Placement Experience:

At the end of the 8th sem students are eligible for campus placements and before that i.e. from the 7th semester college offers students for research purposes and companies come in for internships. As it is a 3rd gen IIT only leaving some very reputed companies like Apple, Google, Amazon etc others all have recruited so or the other from our college. Here the highest international package offered was1.12cpa which was off-campus placement and domestic 60lpa and the average package here at my branch (CSE) is 22lpa (according to the year 2022). There percentage here of students getting offered is 100% of Cse and around 99.2% including all 4 branches. After degree, my main goal is to find a job in a top company and not with a high salary because as time passes I will learn a lot more in a top company eater the one offers the highest package (my main goal is on the job)

Inside IIT GOA: A student's perspective

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placement in the 4th year there are campus internships in the 7th semester these 6-month internships are compulsory with a stipend of approx 55,000. All MNCs like google, amazon, Paytm, etc offered jobs in campus placement drive. highest package is 1.16cr and average package is 24lpa to 16lpa, about 100% student get placed .

Placement Experience:

The college placement committee has helped us in a significant way. They developed us extremely important throughout our placement since they act as a guiding force and completely support and collaborate with us throughout the placement rounds. Our placement was 34 lakh in the last year which is increasing yearly.

IIT Goa Review

Placement Experience:

The college is new but it definitely has the calibre to compete with most of the college as we were part of the first batch and receive good placement offers. The college placement committee was also new established they are not much experienced but the committee is full of professionals. The highest package was around 12.50 LPA and the average package was around 9.5 LPA.

I am a student of one of these new IITs- IIT Goa, which was established in 2016. IIT Goa is an Institute of National Importance, and is mentored by IIT Bombay. IITB supports the institution in every manner, be it for academics or infrastructure.

Here are some important features of IIT Goa-

Campus- The temporary campus is located in Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi, Ponda. It is around 29 kms away from Panaji city. The campus covers nearly 250 acres. It is green and beautiful, especially in the rainy season. There are plenty of scenic locations in and around the campus for photography enthusiasts.

Sports Facilities- IIT Goa shares its sports facilities with GEC, which include, a cricket ground, a football ground, a badminton court, a basketball court and a gym. The members of cricket and football teams visit the grounds in nearby Ponda city.

Academic Infrastructure- The college has ample lecture halls and tutorial rooms. The library is small. It contains course related books, a few novels and some poetry books. The novels and poetry books are in English and Hindi languages.

Other Facilities- The campus houses a branch of Corporate Bank, along with its ATM. There’s a general store which offers eggs, maggie, coke, and other such small items of daily need. Ponda City is just 3-4 km away from the college campus. A doctor is available at certain hours inside the college, and a van is available 24*7 for medical emergencies. The hospital is located nearby.

The college is under constant development and improvement, both academically and infrastructurally. IIT Goa is a good college with a lot of potential. You can ask some seniors from IIT Tirupati, IIT Bhilai and IIT Dharwad about their respective colleges.
