Inside IIT GOA: A student's perspective

The admission process for computer science and engineering at the INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GOA typically follows the Joint entrance examination(JEE) process. Qualify for JEE MAINS conducted by NTA criteria to be eligible to appear for JEE advanced and based on ranks you can fill your seat choices in the JOSAA Portal to get seats in IIT now according to your preference list and rank you will be allotted seats There will be six rounds of seat allotment you will have to report to the institute you got a seat and complete the offline document verification pay the fees. Then you are good to start your undergraduate course in IIT GOA

Around 90% students of B-Tech students get 6-month internships in their respective core companies and the rest 10% get internships in college itself. Top companies providing internships were Adobe, discovery, intel, codeforces, etc some students got research internships at top foreign universities.

Students become eligible for placement in the 4th year there are campus internships in the 7th semester these 6-month internships are compulsory with a stipend of approx 55,000. All MNCs like google, amazon, Paytm, etc offered jobs in campus placement drive. highest package is 1.16cr and average package is 24lpa to 16lpa, about 100% student get placed .

The fees are quite affordable according to the academics and other facilities provided approximate overall total fee for graduation is around 8 to 9 lakhs and the average package is around 16lpa. There is a number of scholarships available and remission of tution fees for those students who need financial assistance.

There are many fests but the main cultural fest is cultrang and the main tech-fest, cyphus. The fellow students are helpful in providing a healthy competition promoting growth, peace and harmony. The library is quite small now but has all the required books. Maximum classes have AC in them and all the classes are equipped with advanced digital tools. There is a vivid club culture here there are clubs for every interest a human can have from esports to literature. Sports facilities are a bit underdeveloped as the institute is still on a temporary campus though it's not undeveloped. We get the facility to play sports like tennis, football, cricket, badminton, etc
