I have got the admission by writing JEE MAINS and ADVANCED. The counselling is through JOSAA. To apply for the jee mains go to jeemain.nta.ac.in and there will be two attempts to write jee and you need to get a minimum percentile to qualify to write JEE ADVANCED and in JEE ADVANCED you need to score a good rank to get into an IIT ( rank varies depending on the reservation you have). I belong to general category so I had no reservation. The counselling is through JOSAA which has 6 rounds which wil start after the delaration of results of ADVANCED. so basically to get into an IIT, the procedure is simple, there are jee advanced and jee mains which are conducted on a national level, so if anyone wants to register for the jee mains, they can apply for jee mains in the website of nta.aic.in. there are two phases of jee mains and if you qualify in any one of the phases which depends on the reservation, eligible criteria on merit. so basically you get into a nit through your merit from mains or register in jee advanced and qualify in that exam to get into an IIT.
