Admission to IITs requires passing the JEE Advanced exam, with eligibility determined by JEE Mains scores. These scores can also secure admission to top NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) manages the counseling process, which includes mock rounds and seven official rounds for IITs, followed by two special rounds for vacant seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
