20 Jun, 2025 IIRF Overall Ranking 2025 has been released for the Top Private Universities. JIS University has been ranked 80 out of 103 in India.

JIS University Kolkata was established through the JIS University Act, 2014, and came into existence in 2015. It is recognized by the UGC, AICTE, BCI, PCI, and NCTE. JIS University is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is graded ‘A’ by NAAC. JIS University Ranking by IIRF was 80 out of 103 in the overall category in 2025.

JIS University offers BSc as its flagship course. To be eligible for admission, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks (45% in the case of the reserved categories). The transportation to college is good and the non teaching staff also behaves well and helps you as much as possible.
The campus life is great with play ground and leisure activities to promote mental well being.

Admission:

I applied for colleges like gurunanak and sister Nivedita university within kolkata and also colleges like the sri sri university in odisha. This was my choice of preference over other colleges as it had more infrastructure and facilities for pharmacy department compared to other colleges.

Our campus consists of full of greenary areas making it suitable for spending off time and huge fields are present for the students to participate in various sports and compition.
One of the prime aspect to be appreciated is our Labs. BMLT students find good opportunities to learn a lot from the laboratories.
The campus consists of library facilities also along with various kinds of book to foster knowledge.

College life in Kolkata : A blend of academics , Hostel life & city adventures.

Jis university campus has a lot of clean and a large playground in the campus. And there is a small pool in the campus.
Jis university's faculty's teaching process and behaviour are better. The bonding of the student is very good (both girl and boys). The girl and boy's ratio in our university be equal 1:1.

Dislikes

Another bad side of our campus is that many times do not provide a internship. As a result, we have lot of difficulty later.
The bathrooms of the campus are not clear and the water system is not available at time.
There are not many sports kit in the sports room of the university, which causes a lot of difficulty during our game.

Admission:

First i will apllied a many colleges, but many colleges rejeected me or i will not chosse the othe other colleges. And I choose the college then the other colleges because, Availability CSE data science with specialization- Not all colleges offer this CSE programme. Staying in our home city reduces luiuving expences and makes travel easier. Our college have lower cutt off, making it easier to secure admission. Other collges cutt off and fees structure very high then the my college. Our colleges provide a good lab and practical classes. GNIT - A college that feels like home

Likes

The teachers are very nice and supportive. The college also have an anti ragging committee which is very helpful
The college provides a lot of opportunities not only in the educational field but also in extra curricular activities like sports , drama , modelling etc
The campus is very beautiful. It's consists of a lot of greenary. It's also a very good spot to spend time during break

Dislikes

The position of the fans are not nice and it becomes quite suffocating during summer

Admission:

I applied to Narula institute of technology but there I got a rejection because my wbjee cutoff was not fulfilled and the number of students were full . I am quite happy to be in Gnit college because it's environment is much better than the one I applied for .

Dislikes

Few rooms are smaller and congested which might be a problem to classes with higher strength of people.
the board would be transformed into a white board instead of a green chalk board.

Admission:

I got selected into Jis kalyani, Guru Nanak, Brainware, SNU and Adamas University. The reason I chose this particular college is by checking their environment and their placement rates particularly in Btech, Another major reason for choosing this particular college was it's distance from my home, leaving me with a time to self study without exhausting myself everyday. I did get a rejection from Narula Institute of Technology Agarpara, and that was because of the booked slots already and besides my Wbjee score weren't that good to start with. The admission process is very simple yet effective. Firstly I had to call the admission officials and they gave us a date and asked us to meet them with few document such as my 10th and 12th marksheets along with my jee and Wbjee scores. Once we showed them our marks, they evaluated based upon my merit of 12th subjects and then I got a direct admission into the college. one could even get into the college through counselling if their jee marks are standard enough. the college takes your 12th, jee and Wbjee scores to get accepted in it and the overall admission experience was quite nice.

Events, like tech fest,ideajam,and cultural & social fest are occurring all time in this college which helps to create new innovative ideas among students.
Library, Here the library is the best option for self study, Library is the mostsilent place in the college and all kinds of books available in it.If there any book not available then there is always the alternative option of this book.

Dislikes

Indoor games are exists in the college but the keys of the rooms are a hidden gem. Where is the keys this is a big question, we have to ask every teacher do you have the keys? After confirming so many teachers, we get the key.
College playground, college playground is so small in front of this college but there are a big playground exists in the back side of the college which is not so clean well. When Sports day came,the playground clears.
Management, the college's management is weak because when any notification came from college their last date validity upto 1 or 2 days. Means, they gave the notification in their group at last days.

I have applied for institute of genetic engineering for the same course BSc genetics but I to admission in Guru Nanak institute of pharmaceutical sciences because they are the only other colleges in West Bengal who provides BSc genetics as their course and I choose this college because this is under GIS group and this is well known in West Bengal. I did not get any rejection from the other colleges I applied. I was admitted to change institute of genetic engineering but they were having some issue internal issues regarding to their properties so they couldn't make our university registration work so I get admission to the Guru Nanak institute of pharmaceutical sciences and technology

Likes

The girl to boys ratio is almost same which is good for interactions and exchange of thoughts
The campus is amazing with 1 cricket ground, 1 football field, basketball court and a extra ground for volleyball and kabbadi.

Dislikes

Less water cooler, only one water cooler and that too on 4th floor,

Admission:

This college was in Kolkata which was good . I wanted to go to Lovely professional University but then there would be no one to take care of my parents, and my sisters are already abroad so there need to be some to look after them
