Ques. Does JIS University take admission through management quota?
Ans. Yes. JIS University accepts students through management quota to a few of its courses. The students applying through this quota are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the respective program and have a valid Entrance Examination score (if applicable). The university exempts such candidates from its entrance test. However, the fee charged for such admission is much higher than that of merit based admission.
Ques. Does JIS University admits students through both State and All India quota?
Ans. Yes. Admission to the B.Tech and B.Pharma programs at JIS University is done based on the All India as well as State ranks obtained in WBJEE. Students can apply with either State or All India rank for JET or the direct admission.
Ques. Why do I have to put multiple course choices at the application form of JIS University?
Ans. During the filling up of the application form of JIS University, one is required to put 2-3 choices in the preferred course section. Based on the merit of the applicant as well as availability of seats, he/she/they will be allotted a seat from the chosen ones. For instance, if the applicant’s first choice of course has no seat available by the time their turn comes in the allotment process, they will be allotted a seat in the course chosen as the second option.
Ques. Can I reschedule my JET?
Ans. Yes. If a student fails to or is unable to take the JET on the date scheduled by JIS University, the university allows rescheduling the test.
Ques. How competitive is getting admission to B.Tech at JIS University?
Ans. JIS University’s latest B.Tech intake record shows that out of 2,596 applicants, it had selected 1,280. Hence the intake is almost half the no. of applicants.
Ques. Does JIS University refund application and admission fee?
Ans. JIS University doesn't charge any fee for application. As for the admission fee refund, one is needed to submit a formal request. The fee is refunded following the established UGC norms.
Ques. Does JIS University have relaxed eligibility criteria for reserved category candidates?
Ans. Yes. The MBBS program at JIS has 5-10% relaxation in the eligibility criteria as well as the NEET cutoff for reserved category and differently abled students. For SC, ST, OBC candidates and students with lower limb disability, the minimum aggregate marks obtained in 10+2 is 45% ( 50% for General candidates). As for the NEET cutoff, it's 40 percentile for SC, ST candidates and 45 percentile for students with lower limb disability ( 50 percentile for General candidates).
Ques.Does JIS University have seats reserved?
Ans. Yes. JIS University reserves 25% of its seats for home state students. Also, the university reserves a certain percentage of seats for SC, ST and OBC students as well.
