What Students Say

Likes

The infrastructure is good. Labs are well equipped. There are elevators too
The campus is kept clean. The toilets are maintained regularly.
The faculties are cooperative.They are mostly very approachable.

Dislikes

There are too many exams for B.Pharm students.
The environment around the college is not that clean, but the campus is clean
The fees are a bit high, and donations are demanded in case of not appearing in entrance exams

Course Curriculum Overview

This course prepares students for pharmaceutical industry. It prepares students very well. Students can be employed right after graduation. Too many exams. Basic things are repeated in 1st year, which wastes time.

Class Size: 90Course Fees: INR 200300 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Per semester - 80150 RS And Total 8 semester so the Total course fee is 641200 RS. And the hostel fee is 6000 RS per month so yearly it is 72000 RS.And there is a from fill up fee And price is 1500 RS per semester.

Campus Life

JIS Samman is held in March. Freshers in February 2025. Library is accessible to all and books are easily available. Classes are equipped with projectors and some have smart boards too. Sports activities happen very frequently, other competetions are also held.

Admission

I applied to Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical sciences and technology. But their seats were full. The above institute took advance payment but later said there were no seats available. For B.Pharm one has to appear in WBJEE with biology. There's another exam called AMPAI.

Faculty

The faculty students ratio is around 1:10. Faculties are approachable but demand excellence from students. Mr. Victor Roy Choudhury is one of the chillest professors. He is very approachable and a great teacher. Gourav sir is very strict in terms of class rules and assignments

Night Life

All students leave by 6 PM from the campus. Hostel is a bit away from the campus. There are 2 small cafes outside. And plenty of of canteens of outside to have meals. The locality may not be that safe at night

1. 7th semester but more accurately 8th semester. 2.Cipla,Sunpharma, Tata1Mg, Frankrose, MedPlus,Alkem, Glenmark etc 3. Minimum 8 YGPA 4. Higher education is the primary aim but if i get some appropriate job opportunities then think about them also.

The placement rate of our college is very good . Companies like macloeds, cipla, apollo, Glenmark,lupin , visits here to hire freshers in a decent amount. approx 65-70% students get placed in the campus,and reaming students are went for higher education in the different parts of the country.

Gitanjali college also gives adequate placements opportunities. Opportunities comes from many sectors. Appolo, Med plus etc. are common and easy opportunities. Beside them Mainly Production companies like Macloids, Sun Pharma etc also conducts interview for their production units every year. Interviews are arranged for 4th year students only. My plan is to continue my higher studies.

Placement are not so good but I can confirm you that if you are good in studies then you will have a min package of 50LPA .Every pharma companies in india or out india contains our alumnis as well as you will get a polite and respectful behaviour in every company after knowing you r passed out from Iopj .

This is the oldest Pharmacy college in India

Remarks:

The college is a good college it is situated beside the district hospital and there is morgue beside it. So students will se many dead bodies been taken. This may be problem for weak heart students. But I thing for a pharmacists he/she should be able to see dead bodies.

Remarks:

Institute of Pharmacy, Jalpaiguri is the 1st Pharmacy college in Asia. This is the only one government college in West Bengal. Labs infrastructure is very poor. 100% Placement are done. Our college is very good Pharmacy college in India.

By WBJEE or AIEEE exam you have got a rank for admission in this college.There are 3 concealing process by the wbjee rank card. Then you have to varify your document in reporting centre , after that you go to the college for the admission.
