Remarks

The college is a good college it is situated beside the district hospital and there is morgue beside it. So students will se many dead bodies been taken. This may be problem for weak heart students. But I thing for a pharmacists he/she should be able to see dead bodies.

Course Curriculum Overview

For Bachelor in Pharmacy: This is a four years course divided in eight semester. The syllabus is well balanced and according to AICTE and PCI norms. College campusing placements are done by CIPLA, ZYDUS CADILA, APOLLO PHARMACY. Many more such companies come to give on-campus placement. Industrial Training is required for 150 hours distributed for 30 days. For Diploma in Pharmacy: This is a two years course divided into for semester. The syllabus is well balanced and according to AICTE and PCI norms. Hospital Training is required for 90 days.

Placement Experience

The college gives 100% placement.College campusing placements are done by CIPLA, ZYDUS CADILA, APOLLO PHARMACY. The Percentage required for students placed everyear are appromately in 60%. The college arranges extra classes for career counselling and various other spoken English classes.

College Events

Most od the cultural programme are celebrated in the college. Football tournament and cricket tournament are also held. This year we have arranged an PUBG mobile tournament. Puja such as Saraswati Puja, Biswakarma Puja, Holi etc are celebrated. DJ night is also celebrated once in a year. Teachers' Day is also celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a college run by Government of West Bengal the fees is feasible. The fees are Rs. 12000 per year and examination fees Rs. 1000 per semester. There are no additional fees other than that. There is no requirement for giving any union fees. There is no seat booking fees also.

Fees and Financial Aid

Thre is no scholarship for any students. Although students under SC, ST and OBC category gets scholarship from OASIS. This is independent to the college and there is no hands for the college about it. The respective member of OASIS gives the scholar ship according to its norms.

Campus Life

The gender ration is 1 female per 5 male approx. There are various workshops are arranged regualrly in college. There is no politics in college. The college runs union free. The students are the sole decider of what kind of cultural programs or workshop are to be arranged. The economical status is bit low. But the college has a rich heritage.

Hostel Facilities

There is total 29 hostel capacity for students studying Diploma in Pharmacy and 19 hostel capacity for students in Bachelor in Pharmacy. The hostel charges are Rs. 80 per student and meal charge is Rs. 25 which includes Veg and Non Veg. Either Veg or Non Veg all meals are same charged.

Alumni/Alumna

Till date no alumni prgram are done for this college. We are trying on it so that we can make an alumini and arrange a get together. The college being very old it has a very big Alumni.

Admission

Pharmacy is an emerging profession. This has new insight to discover and create many medicine in this modern world. The scope of pharmacy is very much as new diseases are created day by day. I choose this institute because this is the oldest college in India established in 1938. The heritage of this institute attracted me. The institute is surrounded by greeneries. Moreover this institution is totally under government of West Bengal. Steps for Admission procedure: A. Bachelor in Pharmacy 1. Give the West Bengal Joint entrance Examination(WBJEE) and opt for pharmacy. The subject required are Chemistry and Maths. 2. The joint entrance counselling will give this college as an option to choose. However, Decentralization counselling also takes place approximately in and after the month of August. So checking of the college website (ipjal.ac.in) regularly at that time is require to get admission to the college B. Diploma in Pharmacy 1. Application is to be made in the West Bengal State Faculty Board. 2. Merit list will come out according to the HS marks. 3. Admissions will be according to the Merit List.

There are 19 Lecturer and 3 Guest Lecturer and they are qualified to teach each and every subjects in the core curriculum. The all have done their PhD in their respective subjects. They are giving valuable education to we students and are very sincere about their professions.
