Likes
- All the big brands and big tech giants come to the campus for great opportunity opportunity for students you can apply for placements from the fifth semester itself.
- College provides a lot of scholarships like merit cum means scholarship, inspire scholarship, and fee waiver scheme.
- The faculty members are really good as they are great researchers in their respective fields.
Dislikes
- But, if we talk about scholarship then it's a bad news that there is no institute scholarship for unreserved students but u can get it for other organisations like nsp.
- The hostel rooms are also not good enough and lack cleanliness sometimes and have broken chairs/ tables, etc. at times.
- The academic workload can be sometimes demanding, not always but sometimes, leading to stress and pressure among students.

Likes
- IIT Kharagpur doesn't discriminate among girls and boys. all the rules and regulations are same for both the gender.
- Campus has a very beautiful night life you can roam inside the campus with your friends on a cycle and explore campus beauty
- IIT Kharagpur has a very good infrastructure it has 2100 acre campus and provides facilities like a central library which operates 8am to 12pm.
Dislikes
- poor connectivity form the city like if you want to catch a flight you have to go to kolkata that is around 110 km from campus.
- Being the oldest iit some buildings are very old and need maintenance hostel rooms feels very old and boring.
- some times people feels very loaded academics and i feel that pressure is quit higher here
Placement Experience:
For placement and internship we have CCD ( Career development center ) and it ensure that students are getting all the opportunities for interview with top companies like Microsoft, google, Goldman Sache amazon and so on. students can apply for internship in 5th semester and can sit for placement in their 8th semester, other than campus placement students can apply anywhere for off campus placement if they are meeting thier crieteria.

- Institute has different number of clubs where students can connect with a bunch of like minded people.
- The fests are way engaging in the whole January month.
- Activities in the hostels are highly interactive and make yourself get out of comfort zone
Dislikes
- Mess food depends on the hostel you have alloted.
Placement Experience:
Placements in the campus are good. Most of the tech companies allow all the branches to sit for the tests. Eligibility criterial for many companies is around 7 CGPA. The average package is around 15 LPA. 90%of registered students get placed

- Huge campus of 2100 acres with a lot of greenary
- Good sports facilities for tennis badminton table tennis etc.
- A lot of shops for buying books food etc.
Dislikes
- Mess food is hit or miss some hostel hv very bad food
- Campus so huge that cycling will make u tired .
- Professor are great acc to wht I got but some say not all that gud

Course Curriculum Overview:
I choose my course that chemistry because of the fact that I had got the rank that came under it and another reason is chemistry department is quite old here even if kanpur chemistry department is better for core, you will get chance for non core too here.
Courses now deal more on chemistry related stuff. No need for course improvement
Frequency is near end and mid sem there will be exams mode

- 9 life is too nice to vast campus it is too intersting
- People here are very creative very talented very epic eviroment here
Dislikes
- City life here is zero means kharagpur city is very worse comaped to delhi bombay
- Internet speed is too low even my mobile network works good than it
- Washrooms are too dirty here we have to think twice before using them
Course Curriculum Overview:
Curriculum is easier than different iits but student learn. A lot by involving in societies an it also do help in developing personality. Exam there are mid sems and end sem and i guess if a students studies for a week he could easily pass exam

- The campus is very big, there are roads connecting all parts of campus.
- The green foilage coverage is great, which makes the air fresh.
- Connections with seniors will help you in your college life, seniors are friendly here and will help you if approached.
Dislikes
- Academic area is too far from the hosel, you require a cycle to commute here.
- The weather is very humid, since I am not accustomed to this weather its annoying.
- Societies and interactive clubs have partiality, you need to be good in their respective field to get selected.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Till now, the basics are being taught, I have talked to seniors of my department and they say that our course is good and curriculum is updated, it will be helpful if they included more computered learning for chemicals such as using computers to synthesize specific material or to emulate how said chemical will perform in certain situations. Our midsems started just 1 month after we came here, I think there should be more time given for the first exam as the students need to adjust as well.

- The environment is very peaceful. Faculty and other staff members are very helpful.
- There are many societies in campus which allows you to have good connection with your batchmates as well as seniors.
- The girl to boys ratio in my batch is 1:5 . But still, seniors are very supportive and provide equal opportunity to everyone.
Dislikes
- Academic curriculum is tough and managing your academics and extra curricular activities at the same time, sometimes become very hectic.
- Since curriculum is tough, you get really less time for doing other activities, which you want to do.
- Overall environment is good and there is a healthy competition between batchmates. But, sometimes you don't get satisfied with your own work and this lead to mental breakdown and depression for many Student.
Placement Experience:
Placement of college is really good. Furthermore, it also provides internship opportunities before placement. The CDC at IIT Kharagpur works at it's best to provide us with best placement opportunities.
Highest package in IIT Kharagpur last year was 1.2 Cr , while the average package is 21 lpa.
Percentage of placement here is 61%.

In the field of chemistry you can go in field research and development and when you done the PhD in the chemistry you will become a professor or scientist and you will able to earn a lot of money and in the IIT Kharagpur chemistry department professor are very good and very interactive and supporting

- The diversity of students is one thing I like about my college.
- The IIT tag helps me overshadow my competitors at various stages.
- The gymkhana at our college is the best spot for hanging out with friends.
Dislikes
- The teaching is very bad by some of the research oriented professors.
- The grading is very tough sometimes in a batch of 250 students. The teacher sets the grading as relative, it makes the competition hard.
- The competition for becoming the Vice President of Technology Student's Gymkhana.
Placement Experience:
The placements at my college are pretty talked about and popular.
Every year such news headlines are heard like "A student from IIT Kharagpur got a 4cr offer from XYZ company."
If someone doesn't get placed then he has to look for off-campus offers, the institute doesn't help with off-campus offers.
My plan after getting the degree is to sit for placements and hope for the best.

IIT Kharagpur is well known for it's placement, many wll known companies visits kharagpur during placement time like google,facebook, amazon etc.also the placement ratio is also very well .even though some student dont get placement but its ratio is very less compaired than the success ratio .my plan is for UPSC thats why it one of the best colledge for me
