IIT Kharagpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

IIT Kharagpur has been recording great placements records and is reknown for its quality that's why I decided to do my BTech programme here. The institute is an important part of the IIT group and got 5th position in 2020 BTech rankings of NIRF. The JEE cut-off for admissions here are among the highest and the allocation of seats is based on the counselling round of centralised level conducted by JOSAA.

Reputation of the institution, the 2000 acre campus and state of the art research facility along with a set of highly qualified faculty. The admission process was through GATE score and interview. The dates were around May 2017. The college is located in the outskirts of Kharagpur so city life in not much otherwise it is a great institute.

I choose IIT Kharagpur because this is one of the top Institutions in India that provide the best placement as a well higher package in India. The admission process is IIT Kharagpur is after passing JEE - Main with top All India rankers. after passing JEE Main you can apply for IIT Kharagpur admission if you are under the rank, and the main motto of choosing this college is after seeing the placement and success story of Sunder Pichai who is an Alumni of IIT Kharagpur

Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM), IIT Kharagpur is best in the placement offers and the infrastructure from the year of its inception. It is the school for management studies in the IIT System. The admission is based on CAT scores, Written Ability Test and Personal Interview .

IIT Kharagpur is one of the best places for BTech in my home-state and it was ranked 5 for BTech rankings in 2020 NIRF rankings. The institute holds various international academic accreditations and the selections procedure here is the same as other institutes under the famous IIT Group. The admissions are based on the score in the JEE Main and JEE advance entrance exams.

IIT Kharagpur is one of the premier institutes in India. Research facilities and faculties are the best at IIT Kharagpur. Campus life is also outstanding here. I found here the best facility of my research area.

The students are eligible for campus placements in the pre-final year of their course. A large number of companies visit our campus which includes Google, Microsoft, Samsung etc. The highest package offered was that of 1 crore while the average package is about 7-8 lakhs per annum. The placement is close to 100%. After getting a degree, I will sit for campus placements as well will apply offline to Academic Institutions.

In the UG courses, the placements start from the 6th semester, while for Ph.D. students, it is generally in their final year when they get eligible to appear for the placements. IIT Kharagpur has a very strong alumni network and generally, all the big shot companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Honeywell, Scheider, BCG, Barclays, and several PSUs visit for the placements. The average package is around 7-14 lakhs p.a. and the highest package of 1 crore is offered every year and almost 90-95% of students from the various programmes bags a placement. For Ph.D. students, generally, some core companies offer placements, while most of the students opt for becoming faculty in prestigious engineering colleges of the country. Although. after completing my curriculum, I will be joining a post-doctoral programme at a foreign university.

IIT Kharagpur produces different internationally reputed alumnus from the very early age. It is known for its standard of excellence. Candidates have to qualify GATE exam to secure admission in M.Tech program. B.E/ B.Tech with 55% score is needed as academic qualification for admisson and candidates have to appear in PI round as well.

From 4th semester onwards students become eligible for placements. name of companies: Microsoft, Google, ISRO, Goldman sacs, Reliance, Unilever, Tata steels etc. Companies registered are around 200. The highest package offered was 65lakh/year and the average package was around 15 laks. The percentage of students getting placed are around 90. My Plans after my degree are not decided yet.
