All the big brands and big tech giants come to the campus for great opportunity opportunity for students you can apply for placements from the fifth semester itself.
College provides a lot of scholarships like merit cum means scholarship, inspire scholarship, and fee waiver scheme.
The faculty members are really good as they are great researchers in their respective fields.

Dislikes

But, if we talk about scholarship then it's a bad news that there is no institute scholarship for unreserved students but u can get it for other organisations like nsp.
The hostel rooms are also not good enough and lack cleanliness sometimes and have broken chairs/ tables, etc. at times.
The academic workload can be sometimes demanding, not always but sometimes, leading to stress and pressure among students.

My take on the first IIT

Likes

Sporting infrastructure for students is top notch
Accommodation is good since internet connection is 24/7
Library is very rich in terms of collection and also very easy to use

Dislikes

Semesters are pretty short(4 months almost)
A few mandatory courses should be elective
There's no cycle stand in front of main gate

In my degree, students are usually placed in Finance, Computer and data structure, and Edtech. Almost half of the students pursue higher studies, so almost 50% sit for placement drive. The average package is around 14LPA. I wish to pursue a Ph.D. after an M.Sc.

Likes

The campus is very large and their is very much greenery inside the campus.
Placements at IIT Kharagpur are very nice.
There are many clubs, societies and cells.

Dislikes

The classes are held very far from the hostels.
The mess food is poor in all the hostels.
There is no outlife outside the campus in the Kharagpur city.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We have various courses like physics of waves, basic engineering mechanics, programming and data structure, etc. The faculty members are extremely talented, have a plethora of knowledge, and have a deep knowledge of their subjects.

Not that much is there for us to dislike

Placement Experience:

Mostly the Pharmaceutical and Edtech companies visit the campus for placement in our particular branch. And they offer entry-level salaries from generally 5-10 lakhs per annum. Whereas if you are adopted with good coding skills, there are many more opportunities for students upto 30 laks or so, that depends upon your desirability. Mainly students with keen on researches and higher education, join this course every year. Hopefully, I would also like to pursue higher studies, PhD, after the Masters is completed.

Likes

Very good environment to study and do anything you want
Good peer group to support you in every thing
Opportunity to explore different domain and accessibility to improve your skill

Placement Experience:

The placement is top in India. And very good companies visit here to take students in every field not only in the core sector but also in the non-core sector. More than 90% of students get placed here and the average is around 15lpa. The highest package is around 2.8 crore per annum.

IIT is very prestigious institute. It was an wonderful experience to be a part of iit eco system. We make some lifelong good friends. Know much more about opportunities in our fields. It take 2 year of my life but gives a life long experience in personal and as well as academical life.

Do you study well, you may not have to be woory about your feature, though funding agency can make trouble for your scholarship in time. So save some money for such hazards. Choose your guide according to your area of interest, else it's will be disappointed and may not complete your degree without 2-3 publications.
