The faculty is quite skilled. They not just focus on the academic development of a student but carry on the course curriculum with an approach of a holistic development of a student. The exam are taken semester wise. It takes place in 3 phases i.e. pre final-1, pre final-2 and the semester final exams. Each student has to score a total of 50% marks in pre finals, semsester finals and lab finals.

Faculty:

The faculty is very good. All the teachers are Phd graduate or IIT graduate having experience of more than 20 years. The faculty of electrical and electronics departments is quite better and interactive than the other departments having one to one intraction with students but at the same time ther are very strict lots of students have to repeat the course you have to be consistent to score good. The passing marks is 50. Exam are conduct in three steps having 2 internal of 25 marks and final exam of 50 marks also the 85 percent is strictly mandatory for all. 85 maens 85 no medical is accepted here you have to be present in class otherwise you have to repeat the course. the exams are moderate you can pass only if you are consistent. Dont come to this college until and unless this is the last option and if you are persuing btech from here i will prefer to choose electrical or electronics rather the Computer engineering and information technology because they have very bad faculty.

Faculty:

The faculty was okayish. It definitely is proportional to student faculty relationship. Personally I liked Prof.Chetan Negi, Prof. Jalaj Sharma and Prof Dr. Rajeev Singh ( all CS faculty). Their approach towards teaching and towards maintaining cordial relations with students was great. Rest all faculties were also okay. Exams in first year btech include all subjects relating to other streams as well. From second yr btech subjects are course centric. The exam papers are quite difficult in the first year and the marking scheme is also rigid. It is difficult to get through the first year of btech for the ones who take studies lightly. Maximum students get their back in subjects in this year. But things become smooth and easier when you enter second year btech. Paper level is on the higher side but the checking becomes easier. There are 8 semesters in btech and per semester there are approx 5-7 subjects depending on the credits of the subject (per year min total 16 credit subjects to 23 credit subjects). The higher the credit a subject carries and the higher you score in that particular subject, the higher probability of getting a better GPA as compared to scoring high in a lesser credit subject.

It follows the percentage system and relative marking is not there. The professors are approachable if you pay them the much needed respect. The exams are easy to moderate. If you prepare well enough for a week you'll be good to go.

GBPUAT: 1 Answered Question

Which is better in terms of a better study environment, academic quality and faculty GBPUAT Pantnagar or GBPEC Pauri Garhwal?

Rajesh Sharma,B.Tech from Uttarakhand Technical University (2017)

It is recommended that you do not opt for GBPEC Pauri. Here are some reasons why:

  • It lacks basic life amenities and you won't be able to get proper medical facilities.
  • Availability of water will be a big problem.
  • The hygiene level of mess and hostels here is extremely low.
  • The faculty and quality of education are not at par with GBPUAT or even DIT.
  • GBPUAT Pantnagar is a better college than GBPEC Pauri in terms of infrastructure, location, and faculty.
  • The administration is suffering from internal politics and no attention is given to student grievances.

You can rather go for DIT or GEU Dehradun which will provide a comparatively better environment and facilities.
