Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

ALL ABOUT IIT BHU

Likes

The placement offers in IIT BHU are far better than other engineering colleges. This year the average package was higher even than IIT Bombay.
The sports and and other extra curricular activities are highly supported.
The college supports startup culture and new buisness ideas. It has seperate clubs for this purpose.

Dislikes

Campus life can be improved if the movement of outsiders is restricted.
Bathroom and sanitisation in hostels is not proper.
Hostel timings should be extended a bit for first year.

Placement Experience:

After 4th semester the students can apply for internships in various companies. There is even a summer internship program that promotes students for internships. After the 7th semester, students can take part in campus placements. Companies visited: 308, and offered more than 1000 students. Placement % in B.Tech: 90. I want to pursue Software development in a tech giant after completing my degree.

Likes

Our college has various types of clubs, which opens a door for a student to explore in his/her interest.
Coding culture of our college is quite excellent
Sports environment of our college is quite impressive

Dislikes

As it is an open campus any open can come in the campus making it insecure
Hostels facilities are not too good, and hostels are too old and has a poor infrastructure
Security issues, especially at night as any one can come here in the campus

Placement at our college is also quite good, our college mostly achieves 100 percent placement every year, with a minimum package of 6.5 to 7 lakhs and a maximum package of 4Cr. A large number of companies come here to hire students and provide them with jobs.

All about internships at IIT( BHU)

Likes

Boys to girl ratio , lenient attendence, green and large campus,
Excellent faculty, extravagant fests, fabulous societies and clubs
Good sports facility, healthy food corners, well equipped gym

Dislikes

Poor waste management, poor drinking water, intolerant guards
Poor management of bathrooms , rooms , and parking
No generator in the hostel , 10pm hostel closed policy, 9 pm library closed policy

Placement Experience:

7-8th semester students are eligible for placements. Many companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, apple uber, Flipkart, Walmart, etc. Total of 720 offers were given by different companies. The highest package was 1cr and the average package was 18 lpa. Around 97% of students were placed. My plan after getting the degree is to pursue an MBA from a reputed IIM or IVY League college.

Some Brief about IIT BHU

Likes

The environment in which we live , it is very healthy.
The placements are very nice and there are many opportunities such as research,M.tech,Phd for higher studies in our college

Dislikes

Our college is open campus and this is very big disadvantage

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year, the companies offer internships to UG students, and in the 4th year jobs are offered. the average placement of my course is about 20 lpa and the highest placements in the college are about 1-3 cr. p.a. there are more than 200 companies that come for placements like Wipro, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and many more MNCs.

Welcome to IIT BHU .

Likes

I am really impressed with the placement percentage and highest packages.
Peer learning and coding culture here is so good.
Exams are not so tough so we can prepare for our internship and placement.

Dislikes

The campus is not that huge like other IITs
As our hostels are very old so infrastructure is bit old fashioned

Placement Experience:

Placement is good here with the highest package 1.5 crores per year and the average package is 40 lacs per year. A company like Microsoft, Google, JP Morgan, uber, zomato, and amazon offers job. I also got my internship opportunity from Disney plus Hotstar for software engineer role

professors are always ready to help and solve our doubts if we approach after class also
fest are so good and many celebrities like darshan raval, jubin nautiyal came here.
placement is so good here. if someone work hard they will surely get placement

i really like campus life but as we know that out iit campus is open campus so people from outside can also enter. i want to restrict it
library space should be more spacious. as people prefer studying there.
the shops get closed after 7pm. students wants that it should open for more hours.

Campus placement is so good here. maximum CTC is 1.5 crore this year. and the average is 3500000 per year. From their 5th sem, they can try for an internship, and in the 7th sem, they can opt for placements. Almost 95 percent of students get placement. companies like Microsoft, google, adobe, Disney + Hotstar, and many more hire from here.

Green campus , VT , Student activity center, Library
Awesome placements in my college , with highest record till now of 2.15 cr. , zero ragging culture , helping seniors , events being held here
mess food , nice teachers , well equipped labs , sightseeing places in campus like VT , pond , agriculture dept. , main building ,etc.

Dislikes

open type campus, large distance between classes and hostel
compulsory 75% attendance , large studying hours of college

Placement Experience:

Students write the internship exam in 4th semester and many grab handsome offers in internship in companies like Google ,Microsoft, Goldman sachs, uber ,etc which also offer PPOs .Apart from this , the placement exams are being given in 7 or 8th sem All the major companies that recruit from all over India visit IITBHU , some of whose names already stated. 1201 offers were offered in 2022-23 . Package ranges: Max-1.2 Cr and Avg-23.13 lakhs ~85% students got placed this yr ,and some went into research/higher studies /UPSC etc. I am planning to become a robotics engineer and then after getting placement ready , will like for working for country's defence sector or something like that.But thats far behind. Lets see what happens.

Sports culture: as i also belong to sports (cricket) and learn it from basic to professional level and participated in various competition
Ragging free campus, security regarding ragging is very strict here

Dislikes

The IIT BHU campus is open so it is not feel good
Canteen services and mess services are not much high technology as compare to other college

Course Curriculum Overview:

In my family, there is already 4 civil engineer so I influence by them thus I also choose this course. In my batch there are 140 students and maybe around 550 students in civil engineering and the available faculty for them are 30 so the ratio is quite good (i.e. for every 20 students there is one faculty available) Faculties are very knowledgeable and have remarkable qualifications from foreign countries and teaching methods are available both offline and online. Smart techniques are also available like projector, mic, speaker etc. There was 2 exam in each semester and the total semester is 8 so we have to give 16 term exams and there is also summer vacation and winter vacation between them. Difficulties are not much that issue every student starts to study a week before the term exam and got decent marks.

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

What are the views of IIT-BHU students about Kashi Utkarsh?

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
