Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

Campus Life : It has one of the largest campuses among IITs and hence one may feel itself to be close to the nature.

Dislikes

Hostel life : Full fucked up, non spacious
Mess : Quality of the food is very very poor

All the information regarding placements and internship is provided on the internet. According to media reports, the highest package offered during placements 2024 on the first day was INR 1.68 crore per annum. Further, 1,044 offers were received during placements 2024. Apart from this, the participating recruiters presented 310 PPOs to the students of the batch 2024. The top recruiters during IIT BHU placements 2024 included Qualcomm, Uber, Goldman Sachs, and Google.

The Unseen Side of My College

Likes

The campus ,it is completely filled with trees and roads are well maintained .
My campus life is awesome, we students do not have any restrictions so our night life is at peaks ,the ganga and the college and a waffle at night , what other than this a student need.
The placements are at a good position right now , but couldn't say about it during my final year.

Dislikes

The campus is not closed ,which makes it dangerous at night.
The buildings are very old ,which makes it beautiful but ,there are no proper fans and lights in the classroom . There are no air-conditioned classrooms, which makes it difficult to study in them during summers.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placements during thier final year in college . The campus placements are good, most of the students gets placed in the college itself. Total 277 companies visited the college and nearly 1000 offers were made. The highest ctc is1.688Cr and the average package is nearly 20lpa . There are a total of 9 international offers ctc pakage range from 77LPA to 45LPA. I'm not sure about what to do after my graduation, rightnow I'm thinking to purse masters in abroad.

Infrastructure of the classroom and compus
Separate playground for respective sports and gym .

Dislikes

The hostel food is not so good for South Indian students
There is no lift for 1 year students and no washing machine facilities in hostel
The room of the hostel is tight and small

# Students are egible for compus placements from seven th semister with average of eight grade points is mandatory. # The famous companies like Google , Amezon, Microsoft, Oracle, Tata . # For metallurgy the highest package is fifty lakhs and the average package is about 17.7 lakhs per annum . #The percentage of getting placement is 75.28 in my course . # To get good placement and to get settled in life .

The campus life and campus infrastructure
The campus was really very huge for exploration

Course Curriculum Overview:

To begin with we have the best faculty who have high qualifications like PhD in the best institute across the globe like Cambridge University, Oxford University,etc.The faculty to student ratio 1:7 .They have different types of teaching methods so that they can convey in a good way that students can understand.We have 2 semisters and 4 exams consisting 2 mud exams and 2 end sem exams.

Campus Life of IIT BHU Student

Likes

Actually I got a good roomates and the college was huge
The campus life is a bit free and near exams it takes some effort
The faculty was good in explaining and discipline

Dislikes

The infrastructure of 2nd year meta was not so good
The availability of books in Library was very less
Many members are not going for core placements from Metallurgy dept

IIT BHU - A DREAM COLLEGE

Likes

I really liked the campus life of college and also all the fests which are organised by institute and various clubs,which gives very much fun.
I liked the infrastructure of the college very much including library also.
Placements in this institute are quite really well and almost all students get placed.

Dislikes

In general i dont really dislike anything but competition here among students is really high which gives a lot of mental stress to students.

Placements of IIT BHU are top-notch notch with almost every top MnC who came to college to recruit the students through interview processes. In the placement drive of the year 2022 highest placement was 1.2 cr and in 2023 it was 1.68 cr and the average was overall 18-20 lpa. placements take place in various steps or seasons so that almost every student gets placed and even i a student doesn't get placement they generally get a job through online applications also.

Complete IIT (BHU) CSE Review.

A Campus large, lush campus, with easy connectivity to the city.
A large Temple (Vishwanath Temple) inside the campus.
Great Placements and Internships are offered.

Dislikes

The classroom are quite archaic, and no AC.
The overall Management and Administration of the college is BAD.
The hostel rooms are triple sharing, which might be a downside to some.

Placement Experience:

The placements of the college are pretty good. Specifically for CSE, the average package was around 30LPA, which is pretty great. Students are eligible for placements from the end of the 7th semester. There are several high-profile companies, offering high stipends across various job profiles.

I like the college life overall. I like the environment of this college all students are dedicated towards their goal .
The second thing is that i like is that the faculty is very good and well educated and supportive .
Campus life is very good. Good people around us and good friends.

Dislikes

I dislike that library is not opens in night and students can't study very well during exams.

Placement Experience:

The placements are good in my college. The placement season starts after the 7th semester. About 300 companies visited my college including Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon and about 1200 placements were offered. the highest placement was 1.65 cr in India and the average placement is about 20 lacs. about 1200 students got placements from 1500 students. I am going to get a SDE job after this degree.

Insights of IIT BHU

Likes

Seniors : Alums and seniors at iitbhu are very helpful and guide you at every moment . Also there is no ragging culture . Seniors also help u academically, guide you with career advice with all their experiences.
Clubs : All sort of clubs are available at iitbhu to boost you in any field you feel like . All it requires is enthusiasm to join any club and just be consistence to flourish in the field and also guide your juniors through what you learnt.
Curriculum and Placememts :The curriculm is very much manageable even for core branches , to do coding and placement data is also comparable with top iits .

Dislikes

Campus : the campus though is very green and beautiful and large but the concept of open campus makes it very unsafe and proctors need to take proper measures to ensure the safety of each student .
Alignment with Bhu : this makes the campus even more unsafe as some student at bhu have political influence and thus creates an unsafe environment as they feel free to do whatever they want .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well managed , not so hard that it's hard to comprehend or cover and not easy enough that could be covered within one night before exam , usually what college students do . A well maintained study achedule of 2-3 hrs daily would help you to manage syllabus smoothly. Since I am a first year student this is the description of the curriculum of first and second semester at iit bhu . I chose Btech mining at iit bhu , not because I was intrested in the course i chose because I was intrested in iit bhu as it offers branch change in first year and has very good placements in software comparing to other iits and was the best option available at my rank . The curriculum of first year is same for all branches including a branch specified subject . The course is already well designed by much experienced professors and being I student I don't feel eligible to suggest any change. The difficulty level of exam depends on the conveners and some are easy while some are hard

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
