Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

All about iit bhu

Likes

Clubs , big campus, chill entry and closing time of hostels ,
Sport facilities - all the facilities and kits are available for sports
Clubs - so much clubs are available for skill development, entertainment, society's welfare

Dislikes

Outsiders can easily enter the campus, too much traffic
Some old hostels are not in good condition
Security of campus is not strict , anyone can enter the campus

Truth about IIT BHU

Likes

I like the freedom it gives students to go out and in the campus comparing to other iits.
It has pretty good coding culture, promoting students to explore this field and excel in it.
Except few profs, they all are cool about everything.

Dislikes

It has open campus, letting outsiders roam in campus.
In fests, many bad people enters and they smoke and drink and create bad environment.
Few things are executed very lazily and slowly.

Placement Experience:

Placements take place during December and April for final year students. There are many companies who make offer for different fields including data science, software development, product management, etc. Highest package goes upto 1.5crores per annum and average package remains at 20 lacks per annum. Minimum 80 percent of students get placed during placements and remaining gets offers in off campus placements too. After getting degree, I plan to do job and get placed at a good company with decent package

My college have a open campus, which also allows bike to the student.
Its location is quite good, as it is in banaras so I love that.
Very good placement report and diverse career opportunity available.

Dislikes

Limited recreational activities beyond academics.
Occasional bureaucratic hurdles in administrative processes.
Inadequate transportation facilities within the campus.

At IIT BHU, campus placements typically start from the seventh semester onwards. A wide range of companies visit the campus, offering diverse job opportunities across sectors. The highest package offered can exceed ?1 crore, with average packages ranging from ?10-20 lakhs per annum, depending on the company and job profile. For those not opting for campus placements, there are various avenues for employability, including higher studies, entrepreneurship, or joining the workforce through off-campus placements. I liked the lush green campus and the course
I liked the kind of fests and the people who perform
I like the kind of spirituality in the campus

I like the greenary in the campus.our campus is full of trees .
The fests here are to good to enjoy and explore.
Placement offers and internship offers .

Dislikes

As the campus is open campus there is low safety for girls
There is no air conditioning facilities in classes .
There is no good infrastructure in hostels and classes

Placement Experience:

Placement wise campus provides an best placement oppurtunities . Getting placement depends on oneself ,his or her trails . From 7 th semester students are eligible for sitting in the placements . If the students are not interested in jobs ,many of them prefer higher studies and appearing gate.

A Beautiful journey

Likes

Nature . There are full of trees which gives a cool environment. There are agricultural fields which gives a awesome view in morning and evening
Architecture. The style and design of our departments
The location of our campus. Varanasi/ Kasi - The place of Lord Shiva . Ghats near to our campus

Distance of the Metallurgy department which is almost 2 km away from hostels

Course Curriculum Overview:

In IIT Varanasi Metallurgy department is the oldest department which recently completed it's Golden Jubilee. The professors are very talented. As the department is second in terms of Metallurgy department in our country it matches with the level of difficulty.

The academic is very chill, no ragging at all, we don't have burden of academics. Attendance is very chill. Professors are good and cooperative overall environment is good
The food is very nice. Everybody coming from different college says this thing also.
Placements are too good for non-Circuital branches also. No ragging at all.

Dislikes

Open campus which brings some disturbance of vehicles from outside
Nonavailability of some fancy franchisee in Institute itself.
Water sometimes in our hostel is not pure.

Placement Experience:

The placement is very very very good. We have like 22 lakhs per annum average package and have percentage like 80% students place succession. Instead of having such a big students batch. We have very good placements and around 400 companies visits in first phase and in total like 500 companies give offers highest package around two crore for last year. Also we get the highest number of pre-placement offers compare to all IIT.

My experience at IIT BHU

Likes

I loved the meals offered here as they contain a wide variety of things to eat.
I liked the placement rates of my campus as they offer a guaranteed placement as IIT BHU being one of the prestigious college in India
I love the infrastructure and the greenery vibes offered by my campus.

Placement Experience:

After 6th Semester, Students become eligible for Campus placements and they can apply for both On campus as well as Off Campus placements. The placement rate at IIT BHU is excellent with an average package of 23 Lakhs per Annum. The highest package was ?1.2 Crores. There are so many companies coming including Apple. Google, Microsoft, Infosys, etc. The percentage of students getting placed varies from 87-90%.My plans after getting the degree is to settle by getting a good job.

The campus of the college is lush green and very big.
Club culture and fests are very good in the college
Alumni base of the college is also very good since it is a very old college

Placements are very good in the college. Many companies visit the college for placement including core, non core and start ups. 80-90 percent of the students get placements. Average package is around 21 lakhs.

students , friends and seniors are also very talented and competitive.
various clubs and sports here give good experience and skill.

Dislikes

our campus is open campus , so we have security issues.
Here the weather is extreme, too cold in winter and sunny summers.
Buildings are old and have some small hostel rooms .

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

What are the views of IIT-BHU students about Kashi Utkarsh?

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
