Likes

The clubs, the people, the fests and the curriculum which is a bit easier than most old IITs
The professors are well educated and helpful if you pay attention

Dislikes

The college managements is full of people who are way to old and are completely out of touch with the modern reality.
Some of the infrastructure particularly the classrooms and hostels is way too old but things are slowly improving

Course Curriculum Overview

The courses are not that tough if you give some effort and all of the professors are well qualified. Some professors speak English in regional accents which can be off-putting sometimes. There are ample amounts of labs with reasonable infrastructure to make them relevant in the commercial world. I like studying Fluid mechanics and heat transfer which motivated me take Mechanical Engg. Although it's not all rosy and there are many scopes for improvement as the some professors have no desire to teach and just write the theory on the board for us to copy with minimal engagement with the class. The exams are of a decent level and mugging up won't take you anywhere.

Class Size: 200Course Fees: INR 240000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for general candidates is bit more than 1.2 lacs per semester and scholarships are harder to secure for students having an income of more than 5 lpa. Fees for reserved categories are much more manageable. For scholarships, the college sends out an email with all the eligible scholarships and you can securebit if you meet the criteria.

Campus Life

The campus life is good with 3 grounds to play sports and a Student Activity Centre with facilities to play Badminton, Table Tennis, Boxing, Chess, Squash, Taekwondo among others. It also houses a gym. Theres 3 major fests Kashiyatra- the Cultural fest, Technex- The technological fest and Spardha, the sports fest. Theree are other minor fests like Cult Weekend, Film and Media Council Weekend,etc. Varanasi being a tourist city also boasts many beautiful locations to visit and chill. There are too many clubs to list and you can find people with similar interests no matter how niche they are.

Admission

The admission process is through JEE (Advance) and the fees for general candidates are just over 1.2 lacs per semester including the hostel and mess fees. The exam is held once a year in two shifts so good luck. You can get the admission documents from the hostel itself and submit them to the Electrical department where all departments collect the required forms.

Placement Experience:

Form the beginning of very first year students are eligible for the campus placements. TCS, cognizant, wipro, are the some companies visited here. Highest package is 44 lpa in amazon which is off campus for software role. Placements % is quite medium if you are serious about skill then you will be get a path here to go ahead. Arround 60 to 70 is the placement % My plans after getting degree is to get a job.

GLA University Mathura is Great!

Placement Experience:

Average package at GLA University may range between 5-7 lakhs but one student has managed to get placements of 55 lakhs and that is still the record placement from GLA University campus Mathura. Around 70-75% students are placed every year but I will be preparing for GATE as my ambition are to be atleast post graduate if not a PHD.

Good for learning and Skill development

Placement Experience:

Mostly te 6th sem (3rd year) got eligible for campus placement. Amazon, Accenture, AVL India, Atlan and many others (about 900+) visited and made 4000+ offers. The ave. package is about 5.25 LPA and highest crossed 39 LPA. Above 60%+ got their placement and the persentage of students receiving multiple offer is about 32%. After degrre want to build a strong carrer and to contribute in the grouth of Bharat.

Placement Experience:

The placements are average But all the students here focus on off campus placements because the in campus placements are very average. Like you'll get a placement of ?6 lakhs or seven lakhs, depending on your CV.

Honest Opinion on IIIT ALLAHABAD

Placement Experience:

From 4th semester, many students get into the internship and many gets further preplacement through it. The companies visted are google, atlassian, flipkart, qualcomm, samsung, phone pe etc. Highest package is 1.21CR per annum. Average package is 30LPA 90% students got placed. Private job is the plan after getting the degree. 90% students gets placed.

Placement Experience:

Placements are quiet low at bbditm. The average package of 4lakh approx and the highest upto 15 lpa . The highest package is from the computer science branch. But number Of placements are low. But there is also number of placements in other branches.

So entry in IIT BHU was through JEE ADVANCE. I gave the examination and got an All India Rank(AIR) of 7533. Then I had Josaa counselling where I had to select colleges according to my priorities. So one of the many colleges I filled was IIT BHU(4 Year B.TECH Chemical Branch). The distribution of colleges is purely based on your ranks. Higher rankers will be prefferd above you.
