Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

Placements has taken place on a good note in the previous years with 2.15 cr being highest placement. A decline in SDE profiles has been observed in the last 2 years but core placements have been increased.

Placement is also awesome and highest package is 1.67crore of INDIAN institute of technology BHU VARANASI
College fest are so good such as kashiyatra,technex,spardha, prastuti.

Mess food is not so good in Indian institute of technology BHU VARANASI
We don't have any cafe inside the campus of Indian institute of technology BHU VARANASI
Every Saturday we have to go outside of campus to have a dinner as on every Saturday messes remain the closed

Placement Experience:

As my college is IIT so there will always be many opportunities on campus so no need to worry about the placement scenario,after 7th semester we will be eligible for placement,highest package is 1.67cr ,avg package is 20lakhs, profiles offer is sde , DA ,DS, ML, AI , product management , and many more.75 percentage got placed My plan is to do MBA after graduation.

Campus is so beautiful . There are so many mango trees
Placement is amazing . So many opportunities College give us
College fest are awesome. Cultural fest ,tech fest and sports fest all are so good

There are no AC rooms available in hostel in Indian Institute of Technology BHU Varanasi
No cafe inside campus in Indian Institute of Technology
Out side campus so much crowded area. In Varanasi most crowded area is Lanka .

Placement Experience:

you are in IIT. IIT BHU Varanasi have best placement offers. Average placement is something 20 lakh per annum. So it is best for anybody. Every big companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Google etc visit every year for placements as well as internships offer. If you want to go abroad for researches then college give so many opportunities.

Likes

Campus is full of green trees and plants and many more.
Sports facility and environment is much better.
Average academic load with average level of infrastructure

Dislikes

Mess food is dull, it is neither healthy nor nutritious and tasty
Behaviour of hostels staff is not good, no repair and maintenance of hostels
Hostels life is not much better, students are so uncultured and having no discipline, manner and their behaviour is so vulgar, and less supportive

Placement Experience:

7th semester for btech and 9th for idd students are eligible for campus placements. There is less number of placement opportunity available for core branches. Various good company visits here like google Microsoft etc. And various core companies also visits. Almost all students who sits for placement get placed

City Varanasi itself due to its old heritage and status as Holy city many tourist are visiting constantly which maintain a lively environment in the city. Many festivals, events being organized all round the year which are fun and enjoyable.
The campus of BHU is very big and takes considerable time to explore and its has many attractions inside the campus which students can visit like temple, lake, aero dome etc. The campus is much cooler than city due to the greenery.
The alumni network of IIT BHU is very strong and any one can find like minded people in the campus, which creates a very fun and learning experience. Friendships establish during these 4 years will be with you for your life

Dislikes

The hostel rooms were very old and were not maintained enough although once you start living in them, you will adopt and it will feel like home
Due to many public attractions inside the campus, outsiders are not restricted to enter inside the campus. Although, it makes the campus lively but raise some security concerns also.
The course program is rigorous and there are many events in which students can take part but the college will not fund in most of these activities and student have to self sponsor themselves. In case of research etc professor approval needed for fun

Placement Experience:

Placement season start in the 7th Semester i.e penultimate Semester. College also assist in placement during Summer Internship program and students often convert those offers called as Pre placement offers (PPO). In the 7th semester students who are elligible for that company job profile, sit on company written test organised by placement cell and companies jointly. It is advisable to maintain a CGPA of 7 and above to be elligible to sit in placement as many companies have this as minimum eligibility criteria. After clearing those exams students are elligible to seat for the interview process which starts from December 1 every year. Companies are given slot based on the package and profile so highest package companies start from December 1 12:00 AM slot and so on. College placement team provide full support and assist in the preperartion for these process. Most of students get placed some dont opt, very few dont get placed due to backlog or other such issue. There is lack of core job.

IIT BHU From My Eyes

Likes

Placements are overall good in the college.
Faculties are very experienced and much helpful. They try to help in any way possible.
The presence of Entrepreneurship Cell has promoted a startup culture in our college

Dislikes

Open Campus or movement without no restrictions is the main cause of concern
Food culture of our college is not so good. The lack of food outlets is the biggest reason for it.
Lack of AC classrooms are also a cause of concern and it makes us feel hard to concentrate in class

Placement Experience:

After the seventh semester in case of Btech students students sit in the college placements. Around 200-250 companies visited the campus last year and around 800 offers were made. The highest package offered was 1.68 crore per annum while the average was around 22 lakhs per annum. Around all the students who sit for placements get placed successfully. I plan to prepare for UPSC Or other after my degree completion.

IIT BHU - An emerging IIT

Campus Life is amazing as it has many things to do in campus itself like Gym, Student Activity Centre, big playgrounds, etc
Library Facility is good in our campus as there are AC installed in it.
Eduaction is good inour college as there are professor which are well qualified and educated.

Dislikes

First problem is that oir campus is open for all in varanssi so people use it as bypass road
There are no AC in classrooms and Labs in our Department
Also there is bad food culture in varanssi that is what i dislike it most

Placement Experience:

There are many companies come for the on-campus placement, and provide many opportunities to students to eligible candidates so most of the candidates get placed during placements season on-campus itself. In case if someone didn't get placed in on-campus, They can easily get off-campus placed as this is a reputative institute of india.

Perform good,get better

The things I liked were pretty good teaching
You can a lot of free time for exploring different things other than studies
The placements were quite good giving you a hope in getting a good job in future

Dislikes

I think the hostel maintainanace can be quite good
May be having a open campus in here makes us uncomfortable sometimes
The problem is it gets hot in the Summer but they don't have any action classrooms to help us

Placement Experience:

The placements in a college differ from branch to branch,some have a higher percentage of placements.But not to worry nearly 90-99 percent of students get placed in almost every branch in IIT.Tje companies visiting would be around 300 and the offers would be nearly 1000 per year.Yje highest package offered in 2023 was 1.31 cpa and the lowest was around 6lpa

Campus life is great. There is a lot of greenery around.
Clubs increase my interaction with students from other branches.
Fests are arguably the best part of college life.

Dislikes

Open campus which allows anyone to enter our campus.
There is not a lot of hygiene in the campus.
Teaching is not up to the mark. I expected better from the faculty of IIT.

Placement Experience:

B.Tech students are eligible in 4th year for placements. B.Tech + M.Tech students are eligible in their 5th year. The highest package this year was 1.68 crores and average package was 20 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree are uncertain till now.

IIT ( BHU) a TIER-1 IIT?

Holy City of Varanasi, it's spirituality and the Ganga ghats
Less strict academics with not many restrictions
Placement stats are much better compared to other new generation IITs

Dislikes

Open campus, we don't have good level of security.
Not having our own auditorium or Open air theatre
We cannot convert our Dual degree to btech course

Placement Experience:

As a technical institute mostly students go for roles such as Software development, product management, consultancy, data analytics, data science, Machine learning/AI , Quant etc. For placements btech students can sit for tests after 6th semester and for IDD students they can sit after 8th semester. I was a part of Training and placement cell and hence got an nice experience during this year's placement session. Highest CTC offer was 1.6Cr for Quant role in NX securities and average package of Mathematics and computing department being highest, about 30lakhs and over-all average package of 18Lakhs. As of now around 65- 70% students are placed with 1200+ offers given overall. Iam planning for Data Analyst role in future as if little bit aligns with my current curriculum and interest.

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
