Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

IIT BHU and Varanasi Text TOUR

I loved the culture and academics here. Seniors and their help was something that was great and guiding for the coming challenges of my life
Campus is green, fresh air, cooler than the city. Architecture and buildings are impressive
The vibe of varanasi and cultural fests are great and makes my day

Dislikes

Hostel rooms are a bit turn off as they are triple sharing so its difficult to adjust
Less modern infrastructure, modern equipment are lacking
Lecture hall are lacking Aur Conditioners

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem for Btech and 9th Sem from IDD Courses they are applicable for Campus placements. Famous companies like Google Microsoft graviton flipkart zomato ola are frequent visitors. Number of offers are approx 800 Highest package as of latest update is 1.67 cr and average package is 23 Lakh per annum CTC. Profile offered are SDE, Business Consulting and Product etc. From every branch minimum 70% students are placed and for CSE MnC etc it is 95% My plans are to avail campus placement for Data Science

IIT BHU: An amazing college with great opportunities

Likes

Good campus life. Seniors are very friendly.
Great placements in almost every branch.
Amazing alumni network which makes it an enriching college experience

Dislikes

Open campus. Campus should be closed to give a more college like feel
No air conditioners in the lecture theatres.
Hostel rooms are too small for three people to accommodate.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements in their fourth year. Many popular companies visit the campus and approx 1000 offers were made in the last placement season. Highest package was of 75 LPA with the average being around 18 LPA. 80 percent of students get placed. Rest pursue further studies. My plans are not yet decided, still exploring.

Inside IIT (BHU).

Likes

The aspects being as simple as the peer group one get here and the opportunities one gets here while the dream to work big someday.
It's great as well after all it's an IIT. The peer group is amazing and so are the mentors here and the proffs that do the amazing jobs to teach us.

Dislikes

Around the outskirts, we need to go to other parts of the same city to have fun.

Placement Experience:

After the 7the semester I guess, students become eligible for campus placements. World renowned corporations and Mncs do visit every year for various job roles. The no. Of companies visiting is around 250+, more than 85% of the total students in a circuital branch and approx 70% from a non circuital branch do get placed. I have currently no actual idea about what I will be doing after getting the degree.

A review of IIT(BHU),Varanasi from my perspective and knowledge

The culture here between seniors and juniors is very good. There is no ragging involved and the seniors here are way too helpful. They would help their juniors in all aspects be it academic or career related or sometimes personal life also.
The open campus of this college has its own pros and cons. Talking about the pros we get easy access to all the things outside the campus and can visit places during emergencies or just for visiting. We don't have to take permission and do all those.
The exposure students get from seniors to choose their career paths. The events, fests, conducted here provide huge opportunities. The coding culture of the college is very good.

Dislikes

In the first place infrastructure. Considering the fact that the college is a part of the prestigious university BHU which is century old, infrastructure of the college is not that good. Except for some labs there are no ACs anywhere in campus.
The opportunities for reasearch seems to be very less. This also adds to the point of having bad infrastructure. As we have got poor lab and other facilities much needed for reasearch purposes.
There are a lot of cons of having open campus for the college than pros. This is a question on the security of the students as there are huge number of visitors daily. There's no facility of bus or something of that sort for the students.

Placement Experience:

The college provides a well maintained campus placement drive. It also has a dedicated cell for that i.e. the Training and Placement Cell. The students become eligible for the placements from the 7th semester of college and they have their placement in their hands way before they graduate. The number of companies visited this year was more than 280 and more than 1000 students got placed in the whole process of the placemnt including the pre placemnt offers. Companies visited includes Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, oracle, Goldman Sachs, Texas, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, TCS, JPMC, Uber, Sprinklr and many more famous companies. The highest package received this year in the campus placements was 1.6Cr per annum and the average package was between 23-24 LPA. Various profiles were open for various branches. SDE, SWE, AIML roles, Management roles, Consultancy roles, core job opportunities were some of them. The students were placed with a huge ratio even after facing recession in the past year

i liked the campus environment, in campus there is lot of things that you can explore.
i like the different clubs you can learn new things by practically.
i like the hostel room in rooms no will be disturb you .

Dislikes

i dislike the criteria of 75% attendance rule it is very hectic.
i dislike the mess food sometime it's quality is very bad.
i dislike the rude behaviour of some professors sometimes they don't understand your situation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is too relveant because whatever you will be taught in class by professors,that will be very important of placement,in cousrse many types of lab also included so that you can learn all the things by practically. Different subjects will enhance your thinking process,because in college course like jee you can't ingnore any type of effects you should think practically to learn these courses.

Our campus is one of the oldest campus and the professors we have are Highly educated they teach very well and we have student alumni interaction cell ,we have many clubs to join the main thing I liked is our placements
The campus is spreaded across many acres so it is very big
We have a great infrastructure in our campus and it provides many facilities

The campus is open campus this is the only one thing I didn't liked about my college hopefully someday it becomes a closed campus

The campus placements starts from the semester 7 and in semester 5 students are eligible for doing interns on campus in the year 2024 almost 1004 offers are made and companies visited are 308. The highest package was 1.68 crores per annum and the average package is 22 lakh per annum and percentage of students getting placements is 74 and my plan after getting my degree is to make some money through my placement

the avegare placement of iit bhu in 2023 is 22.77 lakh per annum . The companies visiting our campus are google , microsoft , amazon , flipkart , etc . The percentage of palcement was 90 percent . in third semester students becomes eligible for internships

Likes

College Placements are good and average package is also around 22 laks per annum.
Varanasi as a city is good with breathtaking experiences.
The college faculties are aslo good with knowledge in their respective domains.

Dislikes

Open campus with no restricted movements from 5 AM TO 10 PM.
Food culture around the college is not so good.
Lack of good food outlets in our college campus. Now they are coming but not at the present.

Placement Experience:

The placemets of our college is good. The packages varies from 1.8crore to 8 lakhs per annum in the year 2023-2024. The average package was nearly 22 lakhs per annum. I have clear plans for my future. I want to get placed in sde or coding role then afterwards would settle down in my hometown.

Every Saturday we have to go outside the campus to have a dinner as our meeses were closed on Saturdays .

As my college is INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ie IIT so there is very good chance to get placed and provide many opportunities to get jobs ,highest package is 1.67 crore per annum, average package is 20 lakhs per annum and 75 percentage of get placed and my plan after getting degree is to do mba .

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
