As for Biotechnology, the placements offered in the university are limited. The core companies that come provide a package of INR 3 LPA to INR 4 LPA. Ques. What is an honest review of Karunya University?

Ans. Students and alumni say that KITS Coimbatore has a beautiful environment.

Some teachers do teach well and the other subjects are easy to be studied for. YouTube rather than from the class. They are really strict in terms of payment of the fee. If you don't pay your fee on time , they don't let you write the exams. They don't let you write the exam if your dress code is not up to mark. The placements are pretty good for CSE.

Ques. What are the criteria for CSE admission at Karunya University? How is KU, in general?

Ans. For CSE admissions at Karunya University, have a rank within 3,000 for Minority, 1000ish for General category. It helps if you know someone on the academic board as students with horrible ranks get it through connections and paying money. Most of the NRIs come through that way. Although I’d suggest against KU, hands down the worst college, they lost their University accreditation. KU with its regressive views, teaches you not to talk to the opposite gender. The teachers aren’t very sound academically - they prefer giving offs or giving you PPTs. Very few teachers in the CS dept know their subject, and most of them just read outta PPPts to you. There are only a few staff that are passionate about the subject and want to teach. They may offer you a free seat, and even then, it’s not worth it.

I loved the campus, it was green and very pleasant
my faculty were very friendly, they helped and guided me throughout my course
Campus life was pretty good considering the fact that it gave me amazing friends who helped me with my academics

Dislikes

Sometimes it can be overwhelming due to college work which happens to every other student in any college
Wish girls had more oppurtunity to go out and explore
Rules can be a little lenient and it can affect campus life engagements

Students view on course curriculum

personally bioinformatics intrigued me so i chose to take up biotechnology but then after joining the course i developed an interest in genetic engineering and i think the curriculum aligns well with real life application

Students usually become eligible for placements in their final year of college, Where a lot of big companies visit the college every year , inclusing hungerbox, google, accenture, as far as i remember somebody was offered 10LPA, almost 85% of students get placed in various companies Iam currently applying for colleges

Fees of the course per semester and hostel fees

I paid around 90,000 rupees per semester as tuition fee and my hostel fee was rounded up to 30,000 rupees that rounds up to 1,80,000 per annum for tuition fee alone there was an extra amoount that needed to paid for semester exams and I was offered a scholrship fee in my 1st year of college where i paid around 50,000 rupees The fee might differ with NRI students.

Students view on campus life

We usually have mindkraft and as well as megaplay every year and we have a big library with numerous books, accecibilty to all genres There is CTC where a lot work goes in there are various clubs where students are part of which includes NSS, Nature club,Music club etc

Facilities provided in the college hostel

There are many facilities including AC and well equipped washrooms and the food was good with a variety of cusinies to choose from The hostel was afoordable and the fee was not that bad karunya is a compulsory residential institution with hostel rooms available for all students

Students view on faculties

The faculty were amazing and very talendted, they helped me with all my acaademic and extracurricular activities which includes projects and internship oppurtunities I personally found Dr. Muthukumar sir's classes very intresting as he made sure every student understood of what was happening in the class There were usually 6-7 subjects per semester and the exams were aligned to the course curriculum

Admission Process of the college

I havent applied to any other colleges and karunya was my first choice and since i personally liked biotech's course in karunya. I have decided to take it up. I did not get any rejections from any other colleges. The admission process had an entrance exam and the after i got in the admission process was pretty smooth.

Night Life

All the hostels are equipped with gyms and cafeterias in their respective hostel where they are available till late in the night and they open in the morning which are around a walkalble distance, Usually the canteen is where all the students tend to hangout

My Experience

Admission:

i chose because i needed the specialisation in genetic engineering and technology along with b.tech in biotechnology, so that i will get an honours degree. And the fees here was comparitively lower than that in VIT vellore. And the admission procedure was also quite simple.

The Management of Karunya University changes the dress code for girls frequently. It depends on their mood. Some days kurti and leggings are allowed while some days they are scolded for wearing tight leggings. They won’t even let you sit for class with such clothes.

Girls are expected to wear a Salwar Kameez or Churidar with a dupatta pinned at the shoulders. They also have to wear the university blazer on special occasions. They also have to wear a lab uniform in the laboratory classes and wear their ID cards all the time.

The local people are very good and some seem to be very caring especially.
Karunya has amazing laboratories especially mechanical and food processing.

My cousin is currently in the second year of his course at Karunya University. This answer is based on his experience as a fresher at the university.

The first three months after you join a course at Karunya University would be extremely dreadful. The weather would be extremely pleasant for a few months but this would change after some time and the weather conditions would become harsh.
The administration, SRA, and faculty members would behave strictly with the students for the first 3-4 months. I would advise you to obey them or else you can get in trouble.
A few marks are allocated to the students based on attendance for the lectures. So, attend classes regularly.
Before the commencement of the classes, assemblies are conducted by the university in the auditorium regularly.
Ensure that you respect your professors as they can very easily cause a lot of damage to your career.Use of smartphones during lectures is prohibited especially in the presence of faculty members of the university.
The university tries to bring light to Christian ideologies and give importance to the Christian faith but it would not feel forcefully executed.

Karunya Deemed University offers various UG, PG, Integrated and Research courses in the field of Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Management, Science and Technology. The institute is accredited by NAAC “A++” Grade.

Candidates can apply for the various courses online through the official website of the institute.
Admissions are based on a first come first serve basis.
Candidate applying for undergraduate level and Integrated courses should have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board.
To apply for the postgraduate level degree courses, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree.
Admission to B.Tech and B.Sc Agri. (Hons.) is based on the valid score in Karunya Entrance Exam (KEE).
Students have to qualify the Karunya Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) in order to secure admission in MBA. Preference will be given to students with a valid score in CAT / MAT.
For BA, B.Sc, B.Com M.Sc, MA, admission will be done on the basis of merit.
